Readathons

1. Tome Topple Readathon: April 13 – 26

Technically this readathon has already started, but there is plenty of time to jump in! This readathon is all about reading the biggest books on your TBR! The goal is to read as many books as you can over 500 pages. This readathon was created by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. Check out her announcement for video for all the challenges and other hosts.

2. #AvengersReadathon2019: April 14 – May 14

This readathon is hosted by Noura from The Perks of Being Noura in honor of End Game coming out later this month! For this readathon, you choose an Avenger and read the corresponding challenges. All of the challenges are tailored to match each of the characters. This is such a fun, unique readathon!

New Releases

I’m personally not picking up any new releases this month. One I’ve already read and one I already own. The last one I’m still on the fence about. If you’ve read The Raven’s Tale I’d love to hear your thoughts!

1. Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett – ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this from Netgalley and read it at the end of March. This was a cute YA, contemporary romance with a touch of mystery. Check out my full review here!

2. Miracle Creek by Angie Kim

This was my Book of the Month pick for April. It’s a court room mystery about an Korean immigrant family and single mother that has been accused of murdering her autistic child. This sounds really dark and intense. I’m looking forward to reading it asap.

3. The Raven’s Tale by Cat Winters

I’m on the fence about this book. It’s a YA, retelling about Edgar Allen Poe and his muse. I’ll be curious to read reviews about this once it’s released! Let me know your thoughts if you’ve read it!!

Reading Update + TBR!

Recently Finished

Foxe&Hound

1. The Foxe & the Hound by R.S. Grey ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I listened to this on audio and thought it was a really sweet romance. This followed Madeleine, her huge dog, Mouse, and the new veterinarian, Adam. While the story was really cute, I personally just didn’t find it to be anything new or unique.

Currently Reading/What’s Next

My TBR this week is all about catch up! I fell a little behind in OWLs readathon so I’m hoping to knock out a few books for that.

1. The Vanishing Stair (Truly Devious #2) by Maureen Johnson

This is the sequel to Truly Devious which I just reread in March. This is for the OWLs readathon Transfiguration prompt – book with a red cover. This series follows Stevie who goes to an elite boarding school where a famous murder occurred 100 years ago. Stevie is mystery aficionado who wants to solve the old murders.

2. The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman

I just started this audiobook this weekend. I’ve heard some mixed things about this story, but I’m still really excited to read it! It’s a creepy, Stranger Things-esque, YA, fantasy.

3. Fame, Fate, and the First Kiss by Kasie West

I love Kasie West’s cute YA romances. This one is about 2 country artists. I’m not usually a huge fan of stories about famous people – actors, artists, etc – but I’m hopeful for this story.

4. Him (Him #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

I love hockey romances and both of these authors. So I’m really excited to start this adult romance. This is also for the OWLs readathon and covers the Arithmancy subject – written by more than one author.

What are your reading plans for the week? Are you picking up any new releases?

  1. Great post!

I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned. I did get Truly Devious in paperback a little while back and it’s definitely a book I’ve been wanting to read, but just haven’t gotten around to it yet. I’ve heard it’s really good. I didn’t even realize until recently that the next book came out already.

I’ve been seeing people talk about The Devouring Gray recently. Sounds interesting.

Currently reading In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware.
