Summary

Wes and Jaime used to be best friends, but after a drunken night together, Wes disappeared from Jaime’s life. Now years later they meet again, at the college hockey championship tournament and Wes finally gets his chance to apologize.
Wes takes a job coaching a summer hockey camp with Jaime and they are roommates again for the next 6 weeks. Here, Jamie learns his friends secret… and one of his own.

Overview

This is M/M, friends to lovers romance. And it’s one of the sweetest romances ever. It’s told in dual perspective, from each of the main characters POV.

Content Warnings: Homophobia

What I Liked

  1. Wes and Jamie were one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever read about. I fell for and shipped them instantly. They had such believable (and swoon-worthy) chemistry. I’m so glad there is a second book because I need more of these characters!
  2. I love hockey romances. Football, basketball, baseball.. don’t care. But there is something about hockey romance that makes me swoon. I can’t get enough.
  3. I really appreciated that the authors tried to address some of the prejudices LGBTQ+ couples face. It was definitely a difficult scene to read – my heart broke during this – but I felt it was handled really respectfully.

What I Didn’t Like

  1. I will say, there wasn’t a TON of plot to this. Yes both characters are trying to figure out their post-college next step. But other than that, this was just them falling in love. Which I adored. I just also wish there was a little bit more to it.

Overall this was a really sweet, new adult romance. I absolutely love these authors and they never cease to put a cheesy grin on my face with their books. I can’t wait to pick up book 2 (and everything else they write).
