Top Ten Tuesday: Summer Camp/Cabin Setting

Summer camp/cabins is one of my favorite settings! And now is the perfect time of year for these reads!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

Okay I only have 8… It’s driving me crazy but I couldn’t find 2 more anywhere on my Goodreads shelves 😅

1. Cabin at the End of the World by Paul Tremblay

This is a speculative horror novel that takes place in a cabin in the woods. It’s hands down one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever read. It also has an ambiguous ending that seems to drive a lot of readers mad – I personally thought it fit this book perfectly.

2. Coldhearted Boss by R.S. Grey

This hate to love rom-com takes place at a construction site where the workers live during the week. So it essentially feels like an adult summer camp! This book even has a cozy cabin and a summer afternoon at the lake scene!

3. Revelry by Kandi Steiner

The heroine is going through a painful and stressful divorce and decides to rent a summer cabin to escape and reconnect. This book is really heartfelt and has the perfect summer romance.

4. Say You Still Love Me by K.A. Tucker

This is a second chance romance that has flash back chapters to when the characters went to summer camp together. This book has amazing summer vibes!

5. Him by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

I absolutely adore this friends to lovers M/M romance! It follows 2 hockey players who reconnect as coaches at the summer hockey camp where the first met. It’s swoony, adorable, and steamy!

6. The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager

This is the perfect summer thriller! This is told in dual timelines flashing back to the past when the main character attended summer camp, and the present when she is back as a counselor, trying to uncover the dark truth.

7. The Box in the Woods (Truly Devious #4) by Maureen Johnson

I’m still reeling over the fact that we’re getting more books in this series! This is follows a whole new mystery and takes place at the summer camp Stevie attends after leaving Ellingham Academy. I can’t wait!

8. You Have A Match by Emma Lord

I absolutely adored Emma Lord’s previous book so I’m extremely excited for their sophomore novel! This is a YA contemporary about a girl who discovers she has a sister she didn’t know about – so they agree to meet up at a summer camp. Anyone else getting Parent Trap vibes?!

Let me know if you have any favorite camp/cabin stories I should add to my list!!
