Fall Reading Recommendations 2020

Book recommendations to get you in the fall spirit!

Happy fall!! Every year/season I do a recommendations post where I share some of my favorite books that embody the atmosphere of the new season. Definitely check out last years recommendations because it has some all-time favorites on it.

Here are 10 other amazing books to read this fall!

1. Legendborn (Legendborn #1) by Tracy Deonn

This is a YA fantasy based around Arthurian legends that takes place on a college campus. It has secret societies, a school setting, and tons of magic!

2. Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas

This YA fantasy takes place in the days leading up to Dia De Muertos following a family who can see spirits. It has amazing fall vibes and heart-warming relationships.

3. Where Dreams Descend (Kingdom of Cards #1) by Janella Angeles

This is an extremely magical and atmospheric fantasy surrounding a circus. This story is lush and dark and full of intrigue.

4. Bringing Down the Duke (League of Extraordinary Women #1) by Evie Dunmore

Another college setting! This is a historical romance following the first class of women admitted to Oxford.

5. The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson

One of my favorite books of the year! This is a really spooky, atmospheric and witchy story following a Puritanical society that has been cursed.

6. Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power

Another extremely ominous and atmospheric story! This is a YA slightly-magical contemporary following a girl who is trying to discover her family’s history. And there’s creepy corn fields!

7. Charlotte Holmes series by Brittany Cavallaro

Can you tell I associate school setting with fall? 😅 This series is so cozy and comforting. It’s a gender-bend Sherlock Holmes retelling that takes place at an East Coast boarding school.

8. From Blood and Ash (From Blood and Ash #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This is a chunky adult fantasy romance that follow a maiden who is restricted from life’s pleasures. But when evil invades the town, she is wicked away for her safety.

9. Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand

One of my favorite YA fantasy/horror books of all time. This follows a sentient island and a band of friends who need to take down the demon killing teenage girls.

10. Small Spaces (Small Spaces #1) by Katherine Arden

This middle grade horror is the perfect “spooky” fall read for anyone too scared for traditional horror. There’s a school field trip, farm setting, and creepy scarecrows!
