Daily Check Ins

Since this is a readathon edition, I decided to mix it up and do daily check ins rather than a top 3!

Friday October 30th

I had work today so I didn’t get started reading until after that. But around 3pm I logged off and decided to pick up my audiobook of White Hot Kiss by JLA while I did dishes and some other house chores. Then I couldn’t stop and finished the entire thing 😅

Saturday October 31

I started off by taking some (okay only 1) Instagram photo! Then I caught up on some Booktube videos before finally sitting down to read.

I read a novella called Sanctuary by Alexandria House and it was… fine.

I then read a ton more of Restless Slumber by K.J. Sutton and listened to the first hour or so of Stone Cold Touch by JLA (the sequel to White Hot Kiss).

To finish out Halloween night my husband and I watched Hocus Pocus!

Sunday November 1

Today didn’t go quite as planned. We ended up having a big power outage that last for about 3 hours. And you would think that meant I had an excuse to read… but no. I took TONS of Instagram photos instead.

But I eventually continued with my Dark Elements binge and listened to the entirety of Stone Cold Touch by JLA! I’m so flipping obsessed with this series!

Monday November 2

Ugh back to work…

I barely read anything physically today because I NEEDED to know how the Dark Elements series finished. So I binged the rest of the conclusion. And I loved it. No surprise there.

Tuesday November 3

My anxiety started to peak today… so I definitely needed some distraction.

I decided to pick up the group book on a whim and ended up reading the entire thing (it’s less than 200 pages long). It wasn’t super romance heavy but I loved the trial aspect!

Wednesday November 4

Today was rough… for obvious reason. I didn’t get nearly as much read as I wanted to because I honestly I couldn’t focus on anything. But I got a little more read of Restless Slumber and Passion of Hades. And of course I listened to a little bit of Storm and Fury before bed. Hopefully tomorrow goes better!

Thursday November 5

Today was even rougher…. I don’t think I accomplished much of anything today. Nonetheless reading.

But I crawled into bed early and finished The Passion of Hades before calling it a night

Friday November 6

This was technically the last day of the readathon! I was still struggling to stay focused. This week was crazy rough y’all.

But I finished up work and attempted to get some reading done. In between doom-scrolling and frantically hitting refresh on the AP site.

Around 7:30 I forced myself to use the Forest app and got a solid 2 hours of reading time. And I finished Restless Slumber! I need book 3 something desperate…..

Saturday November 7

WHAT A GOOD DAY!! Like everyone else I spent most of today watching news coverage and celebrating the best I could during a global pandemic. By mid day I realized I had no idea how to disconnect from my phone. I’d been scrolling so frantically all week that I just wasn’t able to let go.

I finally forced myself to sit down and listen to an audiobook hoping that would help. And it did! I binged the last 3 hours of Storm & Fury while I worked on a cross stitch project and unwound.

The I started the conclusion to the Hades Trials series before bed. I just need to know how it wraps up!
