Top Ten Tuesday: Big Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.

I wasn’t planning to do this today but I saw this prompt and got super curious about my longest book. It was pretty underwhelming unfortunately as I guessed most of them. But I thought I’d follow A Court of Crowns and Quills’ lead, and do 5 big books I’ve read and 5 on my TBR.

Books I’ve Read

My 10 largest books wasn’t super surprising – 3 of them were Harry Potter and 4 were Sarah J Maas.

My longest book was The Order of the Phoenix at 870 pages.
Winter – 827 pages
A Court of Wings and Ruin – 699 pages
Empire of Storms – 693 pages
Warbreak – 688 pages

Books I Want to Read

I’ve been really intimidated by big books recently. There are a lot I want to read but I get so freaked out by how long they’ll take to get through. So they’ve been gathering on my shelves, taunting me.

Note: These aren’t necessarily the longest books on my Goodreads tbr shelf, these are the longest ones that are on that list and ones I actually own (or have pre-ordered).

The Goldfinch has been taunting me for years. It doesn’t help that I accidentally ordered the mass market paperback version so the thing is nearly impossible to hold.. According to Goodreads this one is 771 pages.

Goodreads says Kingdom of Ash is 702 pages but Maas has said it’s closer to 1000… and I still have to read Tower of Dawn (664 pages) so there’s going to be a lot of Sarah J Maas in my future.

The Poppy War – 544 pages

Children of Blood and Bone – 525 pages

And finally is the Mistborn trilogy – I’m including this as one thing because I own the box set and I heard it was originally written as one book. Each of these is well over 500 pages so the whole series ends up being 1703 pages. So intimidating.

What are some of your longest books?? Some of my favorite books are on this list so I really need to get over my fear and pick up the ones I haven’t read yet.
