Oh my gosh, it’s almost May! Here’s what’s going on this week!
Readathons
Here are some readathons happening this week/month if you’re looking for one to participate in!
1. Asian Readathon: May 1 – 31
This was created/hosted by Cindy from Read with Cindy. There is an entire google doc sheet here with all the challenges, rules, links to other hosts, and TONS of reading suggestions! The goal of this readathon is to read Asian authors and books. Definitely check out the 18 page google doc! There are so many suggestions and they are categorized by genre and country! It is amazing 😍
New Releases
1. Pretty Reckless (All Saints High #1) by L.J. Shen
I feel like I’m alone on this island, but I think this cover is awful. But I’m really enjoying the Sinners of Saint series so I’m looking forward to this spinoff once I catch up!
2. Little Darlings by Melanie Golding
This is psychological thriller about a new mom to twins who thinks someone is trying to take her babies. Everyone thinks she is delusional until the twins go missing. This sounds so creepy and so good!
Reading Update + TBR!
Recently Finished
1. The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James by Ashley Herring Blake ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
This middle grade novel was really sweet! It follows 12 year old Sunny St. James in the aftermath of a heart transplant. She has big plans to become the New Sunny but things don’t go as planned. My full review is posted on Goodreads here and will be posted on the blog on May 8th!
2. Him (Him #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a new adult, M/M, hockey romance. And in true Bowen and Kennedy style it is super cute and super steamy. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to picking up the sequel. This was also my second to last read for the OWLs readathon! My review for this is coming on May 9th!
Currently Reading
3. The Vanishing Stair (Truly Devious #2) by Maureen Johnson
I’m almost done with this and will most likely finish it tonight! This is the sequel to Truly Devious and is a YA mystery series following Stevie who attends a prestigious boarding school. I love mysteries, I love boarding school settings. This book is just a good time.
What’s Next
Apparently I have a cover theme this week.
1. Walking to Aldebaran by Adrian Tchaikovsky (E-Arc)
This is by the same author who wrote Children of Time which has been on my TBR for ages. This is an adult, sci-fi novella about an astronaut lost in space. I have this as an e-arc from Netgalley but it’s being released on May 28th!
2. Little Darlings by Melanie Golding (Physical/Library)
Funny story, my library accidentally released this early but let me keep it since I had already checked it out. This is being released tomorrow though! It’s an adult mystery/thriller about a new mother who thinks someone is trying to steal her newborn twins.
3. Can’t Text This (Text #3) by Teagan Hunter (Audiobook)
I LOVE this series! And I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to pick up book 3. This are each standalones so you don’t have to read them in order, but the other characters make appearances. This is a hilarious new adult romance series with witty banter and lots of steam.
4. Ruckus (Sinners of Saint #2) by L.J. Shen (Ebook)
Another new adult romance series I can’t wait to pick back up! I read book 1 earlier this month and want to continue right away. Each book follows one of 4 wealthy, attractive best friends and business owners. I’m really excited for Dean’s story!
What are your reading plans for the week??
