New Releases
I’m so excited for this week’s witchy releases!!
1. These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling
This is a queer YA fantasy about a group of elemental witches. This follows Hannah who is dealing with a recent breakup. But dealing with her ex is put on hold when evidence of dark magic starts appearing.
2. The Wise and the Wicked by Rebecca Podos
I’ve heard amazing things about this author! This is a YA magical realism following Ruby who’s family has magical abilities – when the women come of age they have a vision of the person they’re with when they day.
Reading Update + TBR!
Recently Finished
This was a crazy slow reading week, I only finished 1 book and am in the middle of 2 others.
1. Us (Him #2) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really wanted a quick, steamy romance to balance out City of Girls. And this definitely fit that bill! This series is so precious and so steamy. I’m sad to see it end! This is a M/M new adult romance following hockey players. I really appreciated that this book tackled tough topics, especially homophobia and depression. This was a wonderful duology, I highly recommend it.
Currently Reading
1. City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert
I’m about 1/3 of the way through this and I’m really enjoying it. It is historical literary fiction though so I’m moving a lot slower through it than normal.
2. The Last of August (Charlotte Holmes #2) by Brittany Cavallaro
I picked this up on Hoopla on a whim because I wanted an audiobook and needed a romance break (especially with all the romance I’ll be reading next month!) I’m about a third through this as well.
What’s Next
My goal for this week is to knock out some arcs and library books I have that don’t fit into my June TBR(s) – because readathons.
1. The First Mistake by Sandie Jones (E-arc/Edelweiss+)
2. Something Like Gravity by Amber Smith (E-arc/Netgalley)
3. Royals by Rachel Hawkins (Physical/Library)
4. The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco (Physical/Library)
What are your reading plans for the week??
