Hope you all have a good weekend! Here’s what’s happening this week 🙂
Readathons
Here are some readathons happening this week/month if you’re looking for one to participate in!
1. The Unexpected Readathon: July 15 – 21
Destiny from Howling Libraries hosts impromptu readathons over on Goodreads! A couple days out, she sends out a message letting you know the dates and if there are any (optional) challenges. This round is running this week!
2. Binge Your Favorite Author Readathon: July 15 – 21
Jacqueline from We Be Book’N has a super fun book club over on Facebook! This week we’re doing a readathon! It’s all about reading your favorite authors or other member’s favorite authors. If you’re looking for an active book club to join, definitely check this group out!
New Releases
For the first time ever sine I started this series, there are NO new releases I’m anticipating this week…. I don’t even know what to do with myself.
What new releases are you excited about??
Reading Update + TBR!
Recently Finished
1. The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This has been on my TBR all year and I finally got to it! This is a mystery following a group of friends stranded at a luxury lodge in the remote Scottish highlands. One of the guests goes missing and is eventually found dead. It’s slowly revealed who died and who killed them. This was full of drama and twists, and overall gave me all the classic-mystery vibes I was looking for.
2. Under Currents by Nora Roberts – DNF
Okay this book has gotten nothing but amazing reviews. And my DNF had absolutely nothing to do with my not liking the story/writing. In fact, the writing is beautiful and capturing and the story was so intriguing. However, this book contains very graphic depictions of both physical and mental abuse, I just wasn’t able to handle the subject matter so unfortunately I had to put this down. Hopefully sometime in the future I’m able to come back to this.
Currently Reading
1. The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
I swear I will finish this eventually… I’m the absolute worst about audiobooks.
2. My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing
I’m reading this for the We B Book’N book club! This is one of the buddy reads we’re doing this month and I just got my copy in from the library and had to start it immediately! I’ve heard such good things about this!
What’s Next – Readathon TBR
This week I’m participating the book club readathon! So I actually have a set TBR.
1. Final Girls by Riley Sager
This is my pick for the “Read another member’s favorite”! I own all of Riley Sager’s books but haven’t actually read one before so I’m really excited for this one! It’s probably the book I’m most excited about reading this week.
2. Top Secret by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
This covers the challenge for “Read an all time favorite author”. Elle Kennedy is an absolute favorite of mine and I can’t believe I haven’t picked this up yet! I’ve had this on my Kindle since it came out and I’m really looking forward to starting it.
3. Getaway Girl (Girl #1) by Tessa Bailey
This is for the “Read a new favorite author” challenge. I read Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey last month and instantly became obsessed. Now I’m hoping to read all of her backlist, starting with this!
4. The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary
This is the one odd ball this week. This book has been EVERYWHERE and the hype has gotten to me. My library copy just came it and it’s only a 7 day loan. So I’m going to try my hardest to squeeze this in.
What are your reading plans for the week??
♥♥♥♥
Thanks for the heads up on the Nora Roberts. Sounds like a serious read.
