September was a strange reading month… But overall I’m impressed I was able to finish anything, nonetheless 7 books!

1. The Lady Rogue by Jen Bennett ⭐⭐.5
I received an arc of this via Netgalley and unfortunately I did not love this. This follows a treasure hunter who is trying to find Vlad the Impalor’s magic ring. I have a full review on this but overall it was just really underwhelming and not my cup of tea (which is a theme this month…).
2. Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake #2) by Victoria Schwab ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was so excited to continue on with the series! I listen to this on audio like I did for the first book and it’s just a fun, quick listen. I enjoyed this one just as much as book 1 and I can’t wait to read more in this series!
3. Neat by Kandi Steiner ⭐⭐⭐
I received an arc copy of this from Social Butterfly PR and linked my full review above. I had a lot of mixed feeling about this book. I absolutely adored some parts but other parts really held me back from falling in love… This is the second book in an adult romance series following a group of brothers who work at the town’s distillery.
4. Praying for Rain (Praying for Rain #1) by B.B. Easton ⭐⭐
Another miss for this month… This is a post-apocalyptic romance that also didn’t work for me. Again, full review linked above.
5. The Nanny by Gilly Macmillan ⭐⭐.5
I’m sorry this wrap up is so negative 😂 but this is another book I didn’t enjoy. This is a “thriller” 20-some years after the disappearance of the family nanny. This was slow and extremely underwhelming (boring).
6. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is my only 5 star of the month! And I think the number one reason I 5 starred this is because it was the first time in AGES I got swept away into a book. I literally laid in bed in the dark listening to the last 2 hours of this because I just couldn’t stop 😂 This is an adult romance between a man with a dark past and his best friend’s sister.
7. Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper #2) by Kerri Maniscalco ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I picked this up a couple of days before my wedding so it ended up taking me forever to get through because I had so little down time to read. Which sucked because I absolutely loved this book! I loved how spooky this was, how Audrey and Thomas’s relationship progressed, and those last hundred pages had me frantically flipping the page. I’m hoping to have a full review early in October.
What did you read this month??
♥♥♥♥
Glad to see you enjoyed tunnel of bones and Hunting prince dracula!
