There are tons of amazing releases being released in 2020! Like in 2019, I’ll be doing bi-monthly release posts where I share all the books being released in the next 2 months that are on my radar. But this is a specific post sharing my 15 most anticipated releases of the entire year! (as of right now)
It’s still a little early to know too much about 2020 fall/winter releases, so I’m sure something else will be announced that could have been on this list. But right now, these are the books I’m most excited to get my hands on!
1. Hand on the Wall (Truly Devious #3) by Maureen Johnson
This is the third and final book of the Truly Devious series and I’m so excited!! I can’t wait to see how this series wraps up. This is actually one of the few 2020 releases I’ve already pre-ordered so it will be in my hands right away in January!
2. House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J. Maas
I’m complete and utter Maas-trash and I can’t flipping wait for this release. This is Maas’ foray into adult fantasy and my body is ready. I know so little about this plot because I honestly just don’t care. I will forever read anything and everything this author releases.
3. The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James
I absolutely loved this author’s last book, The Broken Girls, so I’m really hyped for this next release. This is a mystery/thriller following dual timelines at the Sun Down Motel. I love Simon St. James’ writing and she always weaves such poignant and engaging stories.
4. Love Her or Lose Her (Hot and Hammered #2) by Tessa Bailey
No one’s surprised here, I haven’t stopped raving about Tessa Bailey since reading book 1 in the series, Fix Her Up. This sequel follows a married couple whose relationship is on the rocks. I actually really enjoy second chance romances so I have high hopes that I’ll love this one.
5. The Honey-Don’t List by Christina Lauren
I finally read and fell in love with Christina Lauren in 2019. And this new rom-com sounds absolutely adorable.
6. Girls With Razor Hearts (Girls With Sharp Sticks #2) by Suzanne Young
This is the sequel of Girls With Sharp Sticks which took me by surprise in 2019 with how much I enjoyed it. I’ve been looking forward to this sequel ever since. I don’t want to go into the plot of this, as it’ll 100% ruin book one. But this series follows a group of students at an all girls academy where secrets and lies run amok. It’s tropey and a bit predictable but I still loved book 1 and am hoping book 2 will be just as good.
7. Wild at Heart (Wild #2) by K.A. Tucker
This is the surprise sequel to The Simple Wild. The Simple Wild was originally a standalone but the author decided to write more in this world and I’m thrilled. This is an adult romance following a woman who travels to Alaska to meet your estranged and dying father. There she meets a pilot who works for her father and book 1 is their romance. I’m so excited to see where K.A. Tucker takes their story!
8. Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power
Rory Power’s debut, Wilder Girls, wasn’t my favorite but I did absolutely love the writing style. So I’m really excited to check out their sophomore novel! This is another YA horror, this time following a teen girl who wants to know where she comes from. But her mother is determined to keep their family past a secret. I have a feeling this is going to be just as dark as Wilder Girls and I’m here for it.
9. My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
I’ve been trying to get my hands on an ARC copy of this for months to no avail. This is a dark, twisted thriller that follows a relationship between a teenage girl and her teacher. I have a feeling this book is going to go places and be a new all time favorite.
10. Dark and Deepest Red by Anna Marie McLemore
This author and I haven’t always seen eye to eye, but their next release just calls to me. This follows a magical family in dual timelines about an illness that causes people dance until they die of exhaustion. I’m not always a magical realism fan, but this premise sounds so dang intriguing.
11. Home Before Dark by Riley Sager
I’ve only read one Riley Sager book (although I own them all) but I immediately fell in love with their creepy, suspenseful stories. This will be their fourth adult thriller. This one is about a woman who returns to a home most believe to be haunted. I 100% except this scary the absolute hell outta me…
12. Undercover Bromance (Bromance Book Club #2) by Lyssa Kay Adams
The Bromance Book Club was on of my favorite debuts of 2019! I’m so excited for this sequel releasing in March. This follows a group of Nashville men (chef’s, business owners, sports stars, etc) who created a romance book club to learn how to better understand the women in their lives. This series is so much fun and I love all of these characters. I can’t wait to be back in this world.
13. The June Boys by Courtney C. Stevens
This is probably the biggest wildcard on this list. I’ve never read anything by Courtney Stevens but this premise just calls to me. This follows a serial kidnapper who steals 3 boys every year at the same time, for exactly 13 months. Until one year, one of the boys turns up dead.
14. In Five Years by Rebecca Serle
This is an adult romantic contemporary about a woman who has a vision about waking up in a different apartment, five years in the future, next to a man that isn’t her fiancé. She thinks nothing of it, until 4 1/2 years later, she runs into the man from her dream. This sounds like everything I want and all the amazing early reviews are making me even more excited for this release!
15. Where Dreams Decend (Kingdom of Cards #1) by Janella Angeles
Last but not least! This is a YA, fantasy that I know super little about. I know this has romance and follows a group of magicians and a traveling circus. And honestly I don’t need to hear anything more. This gives me Night Circus vibes and I’m here for it.
What are some 2020 releases you’re most anticipating?? Do we have any in common?
♥♥♥♥
Oh I can;t wait for house of earth and blood and burn our bodies down! (and honestly so many more!)
