The first month of 2020 is complete!
I had an amazing start to my reading year! Not only did I finish way more books than normal but I had two 5 star books!
Stats
Total Books: 13
Total Pages: 3,970+
**Technically this isn’t all that accurate. I read an e-arc of Doughn’t Let Me Go and have absolutely no idea how many pages it is so I didn’t include it in my page count.

Books Read
1. You Were There Too by Colleen Oakley ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a bit of a disappointment sadly. I really thought this was going to be the perfect book to start the year with but wow was this sad…. I was not expecting this to be as sad as it was. So definitely be aware of that going in.
2. The Loner’s Lady by Jessa Kane ⭐️
My biggest regret of the month is reading this book. I didn’t even warrant it with an actual review because it was that bad.
3. Born, Darkly (Darkly, Madly Duet #1) by Tricia Wolfe ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This on the other hand was a huge surprise! I had heard tons of rave reviews for this series but I didn’t know how I would like dark romances. But this was amazing! I definitely plan to continue on with this series asap!
4. Tweet Cute by Emma Lord ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I’m so glad I was asked to be a part of the blog tour for this book because it was one of the best YA contemporaries I’ve read in a long hot minute! This story is everything I want in a contemporary novel – funny, sweet, and smart.
5. Love Her or Lose Her (Hot and Hammered #2) by Tessa Bailey ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
This didn’t quite live up to book 1 for me but I still thought this was a really cute rom-com! This one actually felt more romantic in my opinion. But I ended up missing Tessa Bailey’s signature wit and snark. It’s still just as steamy though!
6. Coldhearted Boss by R.S. Grey ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My favorite R.S Grey book to date! This was so. dang. cute. I loved the setting and character growth. And the MC’s chemistry was tangible through this entire book.
7. Archangel’s Kiss (Guild Hunter #2) by Nalini Singh ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
This was definitely slower than book 1 and the final battle felt rushed. But I’m obsessed with this world and Nalini Singh’s writing is next level amazing. I’m planning to read the next book (if not 2) in February!
8. The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Even better than Final Girls! Riley Sager is quickly becoming by favorite thriller author! This was so atmospheric and had me guessing what was happening at every turn.
9. Credence by Penelope Douglas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow. Just wow. I’ve never read anything like this. I honestly don’t know how to succinctly sum up my thoughts on this so definitely check out my review if you’re interested in this one.
10. Winterwood by Shea Ernshaw ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Another favorite read of the month. I would read Shea Ernshaw’s grocery list if they would let me. This was one of the most captivating and beautifully written stories I’ve had the pleasure of reading. I devoured almost the entire thing in a single sitting. Highly, highly recommend. My review is written and will be posted on the 5th!
11. The Hand on the Wall (Truly Devious #3) by Maureen Johnson ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I really enjoyed this entire trilogy!! I was personally far more invested in the mystery portion than the characters which is why this didn’t get a higher rating. But the mystery aspects were fantastic. I just wish I cared more about the actual character relationships. My full review will be posted February 12th!
12. The Bear and the Nightingale (Winternight Trilogy #1) by Katherine Arden ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This ended up being a huge surprise! I started this back in November and put it down around the 100 page mark and considered DNF-ing it. But I heard so many amazing things I decided to give it another try. And I’m SO GLAD I DID! The last half of this book was absolutely amazing and I plan to continue on with the series right away in February. My full review will be going up February 13th.
13. Doughn’t Let Me Go (Slice #3) by Teagan Hunter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I will forever love everything Teagan Hunter writes. Her books are such a breath of fresh air. They’re light and witty and laugh out loud funny. Every time I read one of her books I remember why I love reading so much – because it’s fun. My review will be posted on February 6th when this book is released!
