Here are some books I’ve recently changed my mind about…
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.
1. Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough
I feel pretty bad about this one because I won this in a Goodreads giveaway. However, I just DNF’d Dead to Her by Sarah Pinborough because I absolutely despised everything about it and I’ve heard this one is very similar. I might still give Behind Her Eyes a shot but overall, I don’t think this is an author for me.
2. Now Entering Addamsville by Francesca Zappia
I was so excited for this to be released. But I’ve heard so many negative reviews about this that I’ve just kind of lost interest.
3. Yes, No, Maybe So by Becky Albertelli
This is easily the one I feel the most guilty about… not only do I have an ARC copy of this but I just picked this as a BOTM add on. But I read the first chapter and I just don’t think this is going to be for me. I’ve really fallen out of love with YA romance and I just need to graciously part ways.
4. In the Hall with the Knife by Diana Peterfreund
I picked this up back in October for all the spooky readathons but never got around to it. I have so many other books on my shelves I know I’m never going to actually get to this.
5. Things You Save in a Fire by Katherine Center
Another BOTM selection from last year… I started this on audiobook twice and only got about 45 minutes in before setting it aside. I just have no desire to actually read this and I’ve heard such lukewarm things recently. So I’m parting ways.
6. Today, Tonight, Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Soloman
This one doesn’t even come out until June but I’ve decided to take it off my Goodreads TBR. Like I said earlier, I’ve fallen out of love with the YA contemporary genre so I’m taking break from it.
7. Swipe Right For Miurder by Derek Milman
I tried. I really did. This was one of my most anticipated 2019 releases and I loved Derek Milman’s debut novel Scream All Night. But the first 50 pages of this were a hot mess in my opinion and I just can’t bring myself to continue on.
8. The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen
I loved Sarah Dessen as a teen but again, this genre and I no longer see eye to eye. I’ve read the first 50 pages of this but I don’t think I’ll ever really be in the mood to carry on. So this goes to the unhaul pile too.
9. Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi
I love that this is a female, female romance but it also sounds like its chock-full of high school drama so I’m out. Taking it off my TBR.
10. The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
I really enjoyed The Handmaid’s Tale but I’ve decided that I don’t need to continue on. I’m good with leaving it as a standalone. So this has ben added to the unhaul pile too.
Are there any books you’ve recently changed your mind about??

I also recently decided that Yes, no maybe so is just not going to be for me.. I wasn’t a fan of Becky Albertalli’s previous release, and I think there will be too much American politics in this one..

That’s exactly what I’m worried about too! I’m not big on political stories (I already have to live it unfortunately 😅)

Hahah! For me it is mainly that I don’t fully understand it haha!

Glad I’m not the only one! It seems like one of those books a lot of people are gonna skip.

I’m also not so sure about Yes, No, Maybe So! (The title is kind of how I feel about whether I should read it right now.) I’ve always been really drawn to Becky’s books, but not to this one.

Omg yes the title is totally an accurate description 😂 I really liked Simon but the political portion of this one just has me turned off 🤷🏼♀️

I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about The Testaments but I LOVED it! More than the first book actually. I lost interest in The Silent Patient recently.

The Silent Patient is still on my TBR but it definitely seems to be a polarizing book! I honestly think that’s the only reason im still interested 😂 I just wasn’t too know where I land
