It’s a new month and time for a new TBR!
This TBR was actually a little difficult to plan. I’m participating in a TBR challenge with my book club and that will be determining the majority of the books I pick up this month. I tried to match books to each of the TBR challenges as I set it up, but I’m not sure how strictly I’ll be sticking to this.
These are the books I’ve set aside that I’m currently interested in picking up asap! But after the OWLs in April, I’m kind of in the mood to forgo a strict TBR and just pick up whatever I want.
1. Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
I’ve wanted to read this since I got my hands on a copy but I just haven’t really been able to fit it in. Hopefully this is the month! This is Riley Sager’s 3rd thriller and I definitely want to read this before diving into Home Before Dark! This was on everyones favorite of 2019 list so I have high hopes this is going to be a new favorite!
2020 challenge: BOTM book
2. The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu
This book is really far out of my comfort zone but I’m still really excited to give it a try. I was a violinist for 13 years so I’m hopeful I’ll connect to this story and characters. This is a magical realism following Bach and his sister (who was a violist in real life as well) as she enters a magical world the created.
2020 Challenge: BOTM book
3. Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel
This thriller was super hyped before it released and I’m ready to finally see how I feel about it!
2020 Challenge: TBR pick
4. In Five Years by Rebecca Serle
Another book that was really hyped before it’s release! This is a contemporary novel about a woman who has a dream about waking up 5 years in the future married to someone other than her fiancé. She writes it off as a strange dream until 4 and half years later when she meets the man from her dream. The premise has been popping up a lot recently and I’m all about it.
2020 Challenge: TBR pick
5. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
This book as definitely been making it’s rounds on Booktube recently! It’s a fantasy about a man who is charged with keeping track of children with magical abilities. He goes to an orphanage where the most dangerous children are kept and believe he has a romance with man in charge. I’ve heard this is whimsical, heartwarming, and completely amazing.
2020 Challenge: Out of Comfort Zone
6. The Honey Don’t List by Christina Lauren
This is the latest Christina Lauren and I’ve heard pretty mediocre things… But I’m going to give it a shot since I didn’t have their last release nearly as much as everyone else.
7. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
This book has been on approximately 100 TBRs and I need to finally just read it. Last year I did a 5 star prediction post and this has been the final book on that list for months now 😅
2020 Challenge: 5 Star prediction/TBR pick
8. Wrapped in Love (The Boys of Jackson Harbor #4) by Lexi Ryan
This is the next book I have in the Boys of Jackson Harbor series and I’m really excited to carry on with this series! It’s a standalone romance series following Jackson family and their HEAs.
2020 Challenge: Open Series
9. Devil In Spring (The Ravenels #3) by Lisa Kleypas
Another series I want to continue with is The Ravenels series! This is a historical romance series following the Ravenel family and this particular book is Pandora’s story.
2020 Challenge: Open Series
10. Brazen and the Beast (Bareknuckle Bastards #2) by Sarah McLean
I’ve been obsessed with historical romance so I really want to continue with this series as well!
2020 Challenge: Open Series
11. Archangel’s Blade & Archangel’s Storm (Guild Hunter #4 & #5) by Nalini Singh
It’s been a couple months since I’ve read anything from this series so I want to get through at least 2 this month! This is a paranormal romance about archangels and vampires and I’m obsessed.
2020 Challenge: Open Series
There are a lot more books I’d like to read this month – I have a stack of like 30 books set aside that I’m planning to choose from – but these are some that are high on my radar!
What are you hoping to read this month??

This is a fantastic tbr!! Guild Hunter is one of my favorite UF series. I listened to House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune last month, and really enjoyed it. And I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about Darling Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel.

It’s one of my favorites so far too! And I’ve heard such great things about TJ Klune’s books in general – I need to get on that hype train asap haha.
I’m super excited but nervous about Darling Rose Gold! I feel like it has the potential to be a new favorite thriller but I don’t want to have too high of expectations haha.
Hope you have an amazing May!! ❤️❤️❤️

Great TBR, I am joining multiple readathons and currently finished Mosquitoland. For historical romance do try Sabrina Jeffries and Elizabeth Hoyt they are great authors. Also, gone girl is a must read. Enjoy your reading for May 😊
