Books That Are Worth the Hype

These hyped books are worth every bit of praise!

For this list I went to good reads and organized my Read shelf by highest rated. Then I chose 5 books that I also gave 5 stars to!

These books are super hyped and it’s 100% warranted. These books are amazing and I highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t yet!

1. Heartstopper series by Alice Oseman – 4.55⭐

I slept on this graphic novel series for way too long! This is a M/M YA contemporary novel about 2 high school boys falling in love. And it’s worth every single raving 5 star review. This series is so soft and sweet. I can’t wait for more in this series!

2. Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi – 4.43⭐

This is a literary historical fiction that should be on everyone’s must-read list! It follows 2 half sisters who go down very different paths during the slave trade. This story follows their decedents across 200 years. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking – and so worth this rating!

3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – 4.34⭐

This was my favorite book of 2018 and it’s a book I still think about to this day! I know this book is absolutely everywhere, but it is definitely worth the notoriety! If you’re still leery about picking this up, just do it already!!

4. The Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson – 4.35⭐

This is new favorite mystery of mine and it definitely deserves this crazy high rating! This book has an engaging and twisty plot, amazing characters, and one of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to.

5. Home Before Dark by Riley Sager – 4.35⭐

This is a pretty new release so it’s definitely plausible that this rating will lower. But this book deserves all the stars! This is my favorite Riley Sager to date. It’s so spooky and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish!

What are some hyped books you think are worth all their praise?

It’s so good and a perfect intro to thriller/horror! It’s not overly terrifying but it’s spooky and has a great format and setting! ❤️❤️

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder was SO enjoyable and honestly probably one of my favorite reads this year. I’ve also heard great things about Homegoing but since I don’t ever read historical fiction I haven’t read it yet 🤣 sounds like a good one though and I definitely plan on it!

Same!! It’s definitely on my favorites of the year list too ❤️ I never read historical fiction either so I was nervous going into Homegoing. But the audiobook was amazing and helped a lot!

I definitely recommend that one! It has the best spooky vibes without being overly scary or gruesome
