Summerween TBR

I’m ready for all the spookiness! 👻

I don’t know what I was thinking when I said I was going to take August off of readathons 😅

I’ve been ready for fall since the end of July and I’m so excited to kick off the spooky/cozy season with this readathon!

This readathon is created and hosted by Gabby from GabbyReads and Olivia from Oliviareadsalatte. It runs from August 24-30 and it all about reading spooky books!

Here are the challenges and what I’m hoping to read!

The Challenges

1. Read a book with a creepy coverThe Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this thriller – it seems like you either love or loathe it. I’m hoping I fall on the side of love!

2. Read a paranormal/supernatural book Ghost Wood Song by Erica Waters

This is a YA paranormal fantasy that I know essentially nothing about. Other than it was compared to Sawkill Girls which is one of my favorite books of all time.

3. Read a book with a haunted house – The Peculiar Incident on Shady Street by Lindsay Currie

This is a spooky middle grade following a young girl who moves into a new home in the Chicago suburbs. But the house appears to be haunted and trying to communicate with her.

4. Read a book in the dark Beyond the Black Door by A.M. Strickland

This isn’t technically a spooky book per se, but it seems like a dark fantasy so I’m rolling with it. I got an ARC of this book last year and somehow never managed to pick it up. Figured now was a perfect time!

5. Read a book recommended by the hostsThe Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor OR The Whisper Man by Alex North

I’m not entirely sure which of these I’m going to pick up this week. The Chalk Man is definitely shorter, but The Whisper Man has been on my shelves longer. So we’ll just see where the week takes me!

I also have these 2 books on my TBR that I would like to get to but don’t actually fit any of the challenges!

So if I have time (doubtful) I’ll try and sneak these two in as well!

Let me know if you’re planning to participate in this readathon and what you hope to read!

  1. I’m awful with readathons because I don’t read that fast, so I always pass, but I hope you can get to at least the five main books and you enjoy them a lot ♥
