Contemporary-a-thon TBR

This is so late, I’m sorry. I’m a mess.

Hey guys! Life has been hella busy and posts (both here and bookstagram) have been taking a serious backseat. Between work, the gym, and wedding planning, there’s been little time to sit down and write posts. But I want to participate in Contemporary-a-thon this week so here is a quick TBR using books I already had in my possession.

I’ve only read a single book in all of February so far, so there’s no way I’ll be getting to all of these. But I like to dream big haha.

1. Read the most recent contemporary book you purchased/acquired

I’m receiving an e-arc of What He Never Knew by Kandi Steiner today! This is a companion novel to the What He Doesn’t Knew duology. It is the HEA for the man that wasn’t chosen in that series. I’m so dang hyped for this.

2. Read book with blurple on the cover

For this I’m reading A Heart in a Body in the World by Deb Caletti. I’ve heard nothing but praise for this book and feel like this is the perfect time to pick it up. I don’t know a ton about the synopsis for this, but it is an intense contemporary following a woman running across the country after a tragedy.

3. Read a diverse contemporary

I’m planning to read Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno for this challenge! This is one of Chelsea from ChelseaDollingReads‘ favorite books and I completely trust her recommendations. This is slightly fantastical contemporary about a f/f romance. There is nothing more I need to know.

4. Read a dark/emotional/hard-hitting contemporary

I’m doubling up this challenge – either A Heart in a Body in the World or What He Never Knew will fit for this.

5. Read a contemporary that you meant to read in 2018 but didn’t

I’m finally picking up Broken Things by Lauren Oliver for this. I was so excited for this book to be released last year but heard a lot of disappointing reviews so I kept pushing it off. It’s time to finally pick it up and see how I feel.

6. Read a contemporary in a non-traditional format

I’m doubling up of this challenge as well – What He Never Knew by Kandi Steiner is an ebook so it fits perfectly here.

7. Read a contemporary with some sort of picture on the spine

For this I’m doubling up on Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno. There is a small feather image on the spine.

Are you participating in Contemporary-a-thon? How’s your reading going? What is on your TBR?
