Five Favorite Books I Read This Winter

It’s finally almost spring!!

Winter is hands down the worst of the seasons. I hate the cold. I hate the snow. Why I live in the north is a question I can’t answer. But this winter was extra brutal.

But on a positive note, I read some good books this winter! So lets chat about my 5 favorite!

I’ve been on a huge romance kick, and that’s almost exclusively what I read this season. So that’s what most of this list will be. I’ve also talked about most of these in excess so I’ll try to keep it brief.

1. The Wrong Kind of Love (The Boys of Jackson Harbor #1) by Lexi Ryan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I loved this book. It’s a romance about woman who leaves her husband on their wedding day after discovering he got her twin sister pregnant. She runs away to Michigan and has a one night stand with a man she meets in a bar. Only to find out that man is her new boss. I couldn’t get enough of this story and I’m so glad there are 5 more books in this series.

2. Let’s Get Textual (Text #1) by Teagan Hunter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve been talking about this book nonstop since I read it. I listened to the audiobook in a single work day and I couldn’t stop laughing out loud. This is a NA romance with so much wit and humor. I finished book 2 and recently started book 3. I love this entire series.

3. The Score (Off-Campus #3) by Elle Kennedy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I loved this entire series (minus book 4), but this one was my favorite! This is a NA, romance series about a college hockey team at a fictional ivy leave school. It follows 4 roommates and each of their love stories. This one in particular follows Dean, a wealthy ladies man, and Allie, an aspiring actress.

4. Girls With Sharp Sticks by Suzanne Young ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have not been able to stop thinking about this book since I finished it. I was lucky enough to receive and e-arc of this back in January and read it immediately. This is a YA, science fiction novel about a group of girls at a boarding school preparing them be dutiful wives. This comes out March 19th and I highly recommend picking this up!

5. What He Doesn’t Know Duet by Kandi Steiner ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I think originally I gave each of these a high 4 star rating, but I think I’ve decided to give the overall duet a 5 star. I loved it so much and haven’t been able shut up about it since. Or stop thinking about it! It’s one of those stories that has just stuck with me. This is about a woman, Charlie, who trying to choose between staying in a marriage that has turned toxic, or leaving for an old flame who has just reentered her life. This is the love triangle I will forever compare all love triangles too.

What are some of your favorite books from this season? Did you stick to a particular genre like me? Let’s chat below!

  1. These romances sound pretty good. I am adding some to my “smut list” to check out soon. Sometimes a person just needs some sexy books in her life!

I read a mix of YA and adult mystery/thriller for Winter. Something about the winter season that makes me want to read some creepy plot lines!
