Spring is officially over tomorrow! I for one am crazy excited to welcome summer. Here are my 5 favorite books of the season!
I read 34 books this season. Which is insane to me. I’m posting a mid-year check in on Saturday where I’ll break down my stats. But I didn’t have a ton of 5 star reads this Spring (which isn’t unusual, I’m stingy with my 5 stars).
Here are my 5 favorite books of spring (ranked from favorite to “least”). All of these are 5 star reads that I absolutely loved and recommend!
Who’s surprised to see this on top? No one… This is my favorite book of the year. This is a new adult, steamy af romance between the First Son of the US president and the Prince of England. And it. is. everything. If you haven’t checked this out yet, please, please do! I linked my full, raving review if you want all my thoughts!
This is a soft, beautiful YA contemporary following a trans main character after a terrible junior year of high school. Chris was not only brutally beaten, but just came out to his parents. Chris desperately needs a change of scenery so he goes to stay with his aunt in a small, southern town. Their he meets Maia who is going through her own struggles. This book is so important. It’s another must read.
3. A Pizza My Heart by Teagan Hunter
I just finished this one last week and it quickly made it to my favorites list. Teagan Hunter is my absolutely favorite rom-com author. Her books are so funny and so steamy and this book was no exception. This follows Foster who just returned to his hometown after a messy divorce. He’s been pining for his best friend’s twin sister for years and he’s finally ready to put it all out there. This book had me laughing out loud and in need of cold shower from all the sexual tension. If you haven’t checked out Teagan’s books yet, add it to the top of your list!
This book took me by surprise and completely blew me away. I was expecting a cutesy rom-com (I mean look at that cover). And this was cute, and rom-com-y but damn was this filthy. I love steamy books and this one knocked it out of the park. It’s definitely not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea but if you like some dirty scenes, add this to your list. This follows Georgie who has had a crush on her brother’s best friend Travis her whole life. Travis has just suffered a career ending injury and is back home licking his wounds. Sports, brother’s best friend, and fake dating wrapped into one perfect romance novel.
This is a hard-hitting, intense YA contemporary that had me bawling my eyes out. I don’t want to go into too much detail on the plot as it’s not really revealed until the very end. But this follows a teenage girl in the aftermath of a traumatic event. She’s struggling to cope and decides to run across the country – from her home in Washington state to Washington D.C. This book is difficult to read so tread lightly and make sure to check out content/trigger warnings. I have some listed in my linked review above.
That’s it! What were your favorite books of spring?!
