5 Star Prediction

So funny story… back in December I made a list of 10 books I wanted to read in 2019 that I thought would be 5 stars. And I’ve read…. 1. I put mostly fantasy books on that list and truth be told I have had zero interest in picking up fantasy this year.

So I decided to take a page out of Gabby from gabbyreads book (pun intended) and I’m going to occasionally make short 5 star prediction lists then update you when I read them. So I’m starting with 5 books that are on my immediate TBR that I think I’m going to give 5 stars!

1. Wilder Girls by Rory Power

WilderGirls

This is a YA horror novel that has been getting some amazing reviews/hype. This premise just sounds so intriguing and I have high hopes for this novel. It’s described as a queer, gender bent Lord of the Flies. I have an arc of this from Netgalley and it is being released July 9th. So I will be reading and reviewing this really soon.

2. Swipe Right for Murder by Derek Milman

SwipeRight

This is one of my most anticipated releases of the year and I’m SO excited to have an e-arc of this! Derek Milman’s first novel, Scream All Night, made my favorites of 2018 list. His sophomore novel is coming out August 6th and it follows a teen on the run from the FBI. I’ll be honest, I know nothing more about the premise and I don’t want to. I trust this author to blow me away.

3. Lesson in Thorns by Sierra Simone

LessonInThorns

This book got SO much hype during the Smutathon and it got to me. I just bought the ebook of this and plan to read it for Romanceathon this week (if fact I may have already read this by the time this post goes live). So my review should be up shortly!

4. The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

Unhoneymooners

I’ve been saving this book for the Summerathon and the time is finally here! This is the first book I plan to pick up for that because I’ve been itching to read it since I picked it up. I haven’t seen anyone not fall in love with this book and I totally expect to do the same. This is an enemies to lovers romance that takes place in Hawaii.

5. Girls on the Verge by Sharon Biggs Waller

GirlsOnTheVerge

This is a hard-hitting YA contemporary about 2 girls who are near strangers but come together to take a trip to the “nearest” abortion clinic. Everyone I’ve heard review this says it hit them really hard and I’m 100% expecting to cry my eyes out. This seems like a perfect, timely, and important read. I’m planning to pick this up during Summerathon as well.
