Okay guys… I think I lost my mind when I signed up for October readathons…
So this month I’m participating in 5… yes 5… readathons. This may be one of the worst ideas I’ve ever had. I won’t lie – I was already confusing challenges while writing this post 🙈😂 But we’re gonna roll with it!
First up is the Hocus Pocus Readathon! You can check out all the details, teams, challenges, etc on their Twitter page here!
I’m on team Sanderson Sisters which means I have a certain set of challenges, strengths, and weaknesses. Our team goal is to get all 50 points from completing challenges and become immortal! So here are the prompts and what I plan to read 😊
Most of these challenges are really broad so I have lots of wiggle room to switch up my TBR or double up if I need to!
I definitely tried to choose as many “witchy” books as I could!!
1. Potions, Spells, and Enchantments – Book with a Witchy Main Character
I’m hoping to get to These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling. This is a sapphic, YA book about elemental witches. I want to include a few lighter books in my mystery/thriller/horror-heavy TBR. So this seemed like a perfect pick!
2. The Sanderson Sisters Have Risen – Book with a Female Protagonist
I did not read this author’s previous book, but I’ve heard nothing but good things. All the Bad Apple is Moira Fowley-Doyle’s latest book and it sounds absolutely amazing. And every early review I’ve seen has been 5 stars. Side note – I love this dang cover.
3. The Magic Book is Calling You – Book with a Spellbinding Atmosphere
This book has always been on my radar but I wasn’t sure if it was going to be my thing. But this series has gotten such rave reviews I’m finally ready to give it a shot! Plus this cozy time of year seems like the perfect time for it.
4. The Burning Rain of Death! – Book that Frightens You
I won’t lie I’m pretty scared to read this… I’m a huge chicken and Teeth in the Mist by Dawn Kurtagich will be my first actual “Horror” book ever. Send help and fluffy kittens.
5. Master Satan is Pleased with You – Book with a Powerful Villain
I don’t actually know how “powerful” the villain is in this but the synopsis says “saving the innocent from seriously terrifying evil” so I’m rolling with it!
6. Take Down the Children and Become Immortal! – Read the Group Book
There are 2 group books! Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) by Shelby Mahurin and Hocus Pocus & The All New Sequel by A.W. Jantha
7. Watch Hocus Pocus!
This is an easy one for me! I watch this movie so many times in October it’s ridiculous 😂
Let me know in the comments if you’re participating or if you’ve read any of these books! I’d love to hear your opinions!
♥♥♥♥
That’s a great line-up for the week!
