2019: Favorite Debut Authors

2019 was an amazing year for debuts!!

MiracleOn5thAve

Earlier I did a post about my 2019 favorite new-to-me authors. But today I’m talking about my favorite (new-to-everyone) authors who published their very first book in 2019!

1. Casey McQuiston – Red, White and Royal Blue

RedWhiteRoyalBlue

I’m sure you’re all sick of hearing me talk about this book but I’m not sorry 😅 This is a new adult romance between the son of the US president and the Prince of Wales. It’s funny, important, and so dang steamy and romantic. I loved everything about this book. And Casey McQuiston just announced their sophomore novel and HOLY COW I cannot wait!!!

2. Erin A. Craig – House of Salt and Sorrows

HouseOfSaltSorrows

This is definitely the most surprising one of this list! This premise intrigued me, but I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with this story the way that I did. It’s a retelling of the 12 Dancing Princesses – which I know absolutely nothing about – that takes places in a sea side kingdom. But this story was expertly weaved that I was questioning the genre of this book the entire way through – is it paranormal? fantastical? BOTH?! And the ending of this blew me away.

3. Alix E. Harrow – The Ten Thousand Doors of January

TenThousandDoorsOfJanuary

This book is the most beautiful love letter to readers. I ate up every word and still think about this story months later. Alix E. Harrow’s writing is absolute magic and I cannot wait to devour every book they release.

4. Jen DeLuca – Well Met

WellMet

This fun, adult romance had me grinning from ear to ear the entire time I was reading. It was so cute and lighthearted. This book is super low angst and just an overall good time. It was just announced that there will be, for sure, 2 more books in this series! And I can’ wait!

5. Lyssa Kay Adams – The Bromance Book Club

BromanceBookClub

I think this is my favorite second chance romance. This premise was so unique and so well written and I can’t wait to read more in this world! This follows a baseball player who’s wife recently asked for a divorce and he is trying to win her back by following examples of romance in historical romance novels.

What were some of your favorite debut’s of 2019??
