2020 Goals!

It still feels weird to be talking about 2020…

SorceryOfThorns

I have a TON of goals for 2020. Life was absolutely crazy this past year and I feel like a lot of things have slipped through the cracks. So my focus for 2020 is to find a way to stay on schedule/track with deadlines – both in my personal & bookish life – and hopefully find some semblance of balance!

Blog/Social Media Goals

ThankfulFor

1. Reach 2k on my Bookstagram

2. Reach 500 subscribers here ♥

3. Post at least 5 times a week – both on my blog and Bookstagram!

I’ve really struggled with consistency this year so I’m hoping to up my game in 2020. This gives me plenty of wiggle room for missed posts, but still keeps me accountable so I don’t disappear for weeks like I’m prone to do.

Reading Goals

FavoriteStack

1. Read 100 books

This should be easily achievable again in 2020, I hit this in early November this year. I want to keep it at something I know I can achieve so I don’t feel too much pressure. Reading is fun for me and I don’t want that too change.

2. Read (at least) 1 BOTM book per month

I need to catch up!! I have 16 unread BOTM picks from 2019 alone…

3. Backlist TBR

I created a list of 24 backlist titles to read in 2020, and every month I will pick 2 to read! A lot of these are 2019 releases I wasn’t able to get to.

4. Read outside my comfort zone

In 2020 I’m going to challenge myself to read 1 book every month that is outside my comfort zone. Whether than be historical, paranormal, magical realism, etc. I have a list in mind but it may change throughout the year.

5. Romanceopoly

I had every intention of participating in 2019 but it didn’t happen. This year I printed out the amazing cards they had and I’m going to draw 3 every month and try to complete the challenges. Hopefully I actually follow through this year!

Reviewing/Other

TenThousandDoorsOfJanuary

1. ARC Schedule

I have created, and am holding myself to, a reading schedule to catch up on my arcs. If everything goes according to plan, I should be caught up around April and can then focus on keeping up with upcoming releases rather than late ARCs. Pray for me.

2. Review every book I read in 2020

I will review every single book I read in 2020! No more lingering RTC posts… even if it’s a super short, few lined review, it’s happening.

3. Hit 80% on Netgalley!

I’ve been sitting around 50% all year I need to fix that. Hopefully my ARC schedule will help.

4. Be more consciences about ARC requests

Okay no more hitting request/download on every interesting book available on Netgalley/Edelweiss+….

What are some of your goals for 2020? Do we have any in common??

These goals are amazing! I’m in the same boat with my ARC’s. I’m going to start writing down review due dates in my planner, since non of my ARC’s are ‘advanced’ at this point. lol I love that you want to write 5 blog/instagram posts a week! That’s an incredible goal. I hope you succeed with everything you set your mind to in 2020!

Thank you so much!! It’s so hard to stay on top of ARCs! Especially when you have a quick trigger finger when it comes to requesting like me 🤣 I hope you have an amazing end to the year ♥️♥️

Omg thank you!! ♥️♥️ I’ve already missed a book so I’m not off to the greatest start hahaha. But I’m cutting myself some slack since it’s technically not a set it stone goal for another 6 days 🤣

I love the idea of writing a review for every book you read, even if it’s just a couple lines. I have trouble remembering what I think about a book months after I read it, so I think that would work for me, too! I’m planning on doing weekly updates on my blog in 2020, partly as a sort of reading journal for myself.

Same! It’s so hard to remember details after a couple of days 🙈 I love the idea of using weekly updates as a reading journal!! ❤❤
