Tome Topple TBR

Okay this is a little ambitious but I’m going to give it a shot!

BearAndNightingale

So I’ve never actually participated in Tome Topple before because honestly… big books scare the 💩 outta me. But I have a 4 books over 500 pages on my 2020 TBR. I have a feeling I will keep putting them because they’re so much more intimidating so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give 1 or 2 of them a read.

Tome Topple was created by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes and runs from February 7th – 21st. There is a bingo card and tons of prompts but I’m personally not following/using them. These are the 4 books I have that I may read during these 2 weeks!

1. The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

SevenDeaths

I’ve had this on my TBR for about 2 years… It’s such a brick and intimidates the heck outta me. But I desperately want to get to it in 2020 so this is definitely an option for the week!

2. Every Other Weekend by Abigail Johnson

EveryOtherWeekend

I had no idea when I initially requested this ARC that this beast was 500 pages. I unfortunately didn’t finish it before it was released but I’m planning to this month! So this one will for sure be happening!

3. Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin

Serpent&Dove

This is the other most likely option. This is a YA, fantasy romance which seems like a really good February pick. I’ve heard such mixed things about this but I’m hoping I end up enjoying it!

4. Middlegame by Seanan McGuire

Middlegame

This one is not likely to actually happen 😅 But if I’m feeling real ambitious I may reach for it. This is one of those books I keep waffling on whether or not I’ll actually read it. But all the rave reviews just have me so intrigued. So we’ll see.

Are you participating in Tome Topple this round? What big books are you planning to read??

Hope you enjoy them! I’ve heard really good things about Middlegame! =)

Not participating in the readathon unfortunately. Too much work at uni. Got quite a few books on my TBR for the year that are more than 500 pages. Will hopefully be able to pick up some of them soon, but I guess it is unlikely until the summer holidays, as I tend to lean towards shorter reads during term time.

        Thank you! 😀

I totally agree! It’s always a risk when reading a very hyped book, but hopefully it will live up to your expectations! =)

I’m also planning on participating! I will just read the tomes I want and then afterwards see if they fill any of the bingo squares haha!
I know you say it is not likely to happen, but I really hope you end up reading Middlegame! It is one of my faves!
    Good luck!
