This reading month was significantly slower than January, but I read a lot of really good books!

Books Read
1. The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a super eerie, atmospheric thriller! I love this author and while I didn’t love this quite as much as The Broken Girls, it was still a really solid mystery/thriller! I loved how ghosty and creepy this was. Definitely recommend checking this one out!!
2. Unbreakable (Cloverleigh Farms #4) by Melanie Harlow ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is definitely my favorite book in this series so far! This is a super wholesome, adorable romance series that takes place at a winery in Michigan. This book in particular follows 2 divorcés who are trying to deal with and move past their previous relationships. The only thing that kept this from a full 5 star was a plot device that I don’t love. If you’re curious or sensitive to infertility, check out my Goodreads review for some spoiler-y details.
Review coming: March 4th
3. The Grace Year by Kim Liggett ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My favorite book of the month!! I had a feeling this was going to be a 5 star read and it easily was. I loved every dang word and page of this book. It’s so gritty, and feminist, and I can’t gush enough about this story. My full review is linked above you want some more coherent thoughts and details.
4. The Other Mrs. by Mary Kubica ⭐⭐⭐
This book was a mixed bag. While this was crazy suspenseful (and had actually had me vivid dreaming one night), I felt like it was insanely predictable. I take notes while I read and I had the twist figured out and written down at 42%. So the rest of the book was a bit of a drag and the ending wasn’t my cup of tea.
Review coming: March 6th
5. The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This dang book! Honestly if it wasn’t for the last 6% of this book, this would have been a 5 star. I LOVED this Slytherin romance with every fiber of my being. These 2 were so evil and was living for it. But this ending ya’ll… whyyyyy?? It was just too melodramatic in my opinion. I have a spoiler section in my Goodreads review for what part in particular bugged me if you’ve read this and are curious. I highly, highly recommend this for any fantasy romance fans though!!

6. Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one was a big surprise! Don’t be deterred by the heinous cover (seriously I will never get over how ugly this is). This book was a wild ride! If you are at all squeamish don’t touch this with a ten foot pole. This book is graphic and violent and seriously dark. But it really delves into the horrors of rape culture and I loved the badass females in this book.
7. A Question of Holmes (Charlotte Holmes #4) by Brittany Cavallaro ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
I’m heartbroken that this series is over. This was easily my favorite of the series and I will never again be okay after that ending. I’m a shell of the person I once was. I love Jamie and Charlotte and I’m just not ready to let go…
8. Archangel’s Consort (Guild Hunter #3) by Nalini Singh ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I love this series. It’s so addictive and love these characters. This one felt like setup for the upcoming books but I still really enjoyed this one. I cannot wait for book 4 which follows one of the vampires instead!!
9. A Perilous Undertaking (Veronica Speedwell #2) by Deanna Raybourn ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I could kick myself for putting off this sequel for so long! I loved this! These characters are everything and I’m definitely picking up book 3 in a more acceptable timeframe 😅 This book had me swooning and laughing out loud multiple times. I love the classic whodunit mixed with Victorian London and societal rebellion. It’s just everything.

I could not agree more about the Foul is Fair book cover. They could have taken it in so many different ways. I’m hoping the international covers will look better.
