OWLs Magical Readathon Wrap Up

Round 3 of the OWLs readathon is complete!

SlaveToSensation

This is a readathon I participate in every year and absolutely adore! G has expanded this readathon like crazy over the last three years and this year and bigger and better than ever ♥

If you’ve never heard of or participated in the OWLs, there is still time to do so before the NEWTs later this year! Here is the announcement video which goes over all the details!

This year I went for the Spell maker career and I’m so excited that I was able to complete all the challenges! AND 2 additional Trainings! I actually finished this entire TBR around the 18th of April 😅 It was a crazy month y’all.

Here’s what I read for each challenge!

Spell Maker

1. Transfiguration: Includes Shapeshifting – Slave to Sensation (Pay-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

SlaveToSensation

This was such an amazing read! I’m officially and wholly obsessed with Nalini Singh.

2. History of Magic: Features Witches/Wizards – Serpent & Dove (Serpent & Dove #1) by Shelby Mahurin ⭐⭐.5

Serpent&Dove

This book was a major bust sadly. I have a full review up on Goodreads and will be posting one here later this month.

3. Divination: Random Number Generator – Beach Read by Emily Henry ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

BeachRead

I ended up redoing my random pick because I wasn’t going to finish The Secret History and don’t want to pick up Eight Perfect Murders until I do. And I’m so flipping glad I was able to fit this book in!! This is a new all time favorite book!

4. Charms: White Cover – Straight Up Love (The Boys of Jackson Harbor #2) by Lexi Ryan ⭐⭐⭐.5

StraightUpLove

I didn’t love this quite as much as book 1 but I still really enjoyed this sequel! This review is coming next week!

5. Astronomy: Read the Majority While It’s Dark – Heartstopper Vol 1 by Alice Oseman ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Heartstopper1

It’s a flipping travesty that I waited so long to jump on this bandwagon. This graphic novel series is so heartwarming and wholesome.

6. Arithmancy: Outside Favorite Genre – The Vanishing Deep by Astrid Scholte ⭐⭐.5

VanishingDeep

Another huge bummer of a read. I don’t know why I so graciously gave this 2.5 stars.. I have zero good things to say about this book. My full review is coming in a couple weeks if you want to hear me rant…

7. Ancient Runes: Heart on the Cover or in Title – Heartstopper Vol 2 & 3 by Alice Oseman ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Heartstopper2 Heartstopper3

I went ahead and binged this entire series in a single night. It was everything I ever wanted.

Animagus Training

6. Arithmancy: Outside Favorite Genre – The Vanishing Deep by Astrid Scholte ⭐⭐.5

VanishingDeep

Doubled up this bummer

2. Transfiguration: Includes Shapeshifting – Slave to Sensation (Pay-Changeling #1) by Nalini Singh ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

SlaveToSensation

Another double up from my career.

3. Potions: Book Under 150 Pages – Becoming the Dark Prince (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3.5) by Kerri Maniscalco ⭐⭐⭐

BecomingTheDarkPrince

This was a fun novella but I didn’t think it brought much to the story. It was interesting to get Creswell’s POV but most of this was just recap from the end of book 3.

Merpeople Linguistics

1. Herbology: Title That Starts With “M” – Manhattan (Becker Brothers #3) by Kandi Steiner ⭐⭐⭐.5

Manhattan

I finally got to the third book in the Becker Brothers series! I listened to this on Audible Escape and it was flipping adorable. I love this series and family so much! This is another review coming in a couple weeks!

If you participated in the OWLs, let me know how your readathon went in the comments!!
