June TBR

Happy June! ☀️

Okay so I had written this entire post back in mid May. But then at the last second I decided to make things super difficult and participate in FOUR readathons in June 😅

I posted my TBR for FeelGoodAton last week (which actually changed a little, so I updated that post to reflect that). But the other 3 readathons I’m doing are:

  1. Make You MythTaker
  2. Olympic Games
  3. Hogsmead Magical Readathon

My Hogsmead TBR will be coming later in the month since that week long readathon doesn’t start until the 22nd. But the other 2 are month long readathons!

They looked like so much fun and all the TBRs were giving me serious FOMO. So I rearranged some things and fit a lot of my original TBR plans into these readathons/challenges.

Here’s what I hope to read!

Make Your MythTaker

I’m planning to become a Oracle! As of right now I’m not planning on doing any additional paths, just because this TBR was so difficult to make as it was. But if I have any extra space throughout the month, I might add in some additional challenges.

If you’re interested in this readathon check out the Twitter page for all the details! It’s super complex and Ashleigh from A Frolic Through Fiction is amazing for putting this all together!

1. Go Into a Book Blind: What Lies Between Us by John Marrs

I have a e-arc of this that I never got to so now is the time! I know literally nothing about this book, which is apparently the best way to read a John Marrs book. I’m so excited to kick off June with this!

2. Read a Foiled Cover: Daughters of Nri by Reni K Amayo

This was available on Kindle Unlimited to I immediately downloaded it! I don’t actually know much about this other than it’s a YA fantasy about gods. I’m really excited to dive into another book totally blind (something I don’t do very often).

3. A Book About Books: Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey

This book is super outside my comfort zone but I’m excited to give this short novella a read! This is a future, Western feeling dystopian following queer librarians. That’s all I know and since this is so short, I don’t want to know any more.

4. Five Star Prediction: Lock Every Door by Riley Sager

Home Before Dark releases this month so I desperately need to read this before diving into that! I love Riley Sager’s thrillers so I definitely think this could be a new 5 star read!

Olympic Games

This readathon is based on the Percy Jackson series – which admittedly, I’ve never read nor plan to. But I loved the concept of this readathon and I’ve been obsessed with Greek mythology since reading Lore Olympus, so I had to participate.

This readathon was created by Ishi Time and it’s another month long readathon. Here’s the Twitter page with all the details and links!

I’m joining Team Apollo for this readathon!

1. Music To My Ears | Listen to an Audiobook: The Lovely War by Julie Berry

I picked this up on Audible a month or so back because I heard the full cast audiobook is absolutely amazing. But this is also the Group Read for the readathon so it worked out perfect! This is a historical fiction told from the perspective of the Greek Gods recounting 2 romances from WW1 and WW2. I’m reading to be blown away.

2. Healing | Read a Book You Know Will Make You Happy: The House by the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune

I’ve heard absolutely amazing things about this adult fantasy so I’m really excited to fall in love with this too. I’ve heard this book is really heartwarming and feel good which I think we could all use right about now.

3. As the God of Prophecy, Apollo Can Often Predict the Future | Read a 5 Star Prediction

I’m doubling up with the Make Your MythTaker prompt!

4. Read a Book That Starts with “A”: Archangel’s Blade (Guild Hunter #4) by Nalini Singh

I’m so excited to finally be continuing with this series! I keep putting it off to prioritize other things but I miss this world! And book 13 releases later this year so I need to get moving! I believe this book follows Demetri so I’m excited to follow a new character!

5. The Twin Archers | Complete a Prompt That Honors Artemis (Featuring an Animal): Winter of the Witch (Winternight Trilogy #3) by Katherine Arden

I can’t even explain how excited I am read the conclusion to this amazing series! I’ve heard it’s the best in the series so I can’t wait to dive in. This is a Russian folklore inspired fantasy series with some of the most atmospheric and immersive writing I’ve ever read.

6. Capture the Flag | Anticipated Read: Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson

I received an e-arc copy of this July release and I’m so excited to go into this! It seems like a super spooky, witchy story, which will be nice in otherwise romance heavy TBR.

7. Climbing the Wall | Next in a Series: Fumbled by Alexa Martin

I loved the first book in this series and it’s taken me way too long to pick up book 2. I just placed a massive book order with this book in it so I’m really excited to continue on with this series!

8. Pegasus | Published in the Last 5 Years: The Lady’s Guide to Celestial Mechanics (Feminine Pursuits #1) by Cat Sebastian

I recently got approved for an e-arc for the second book in this series so I need to pick up book 1 before going into that! This is a F/F historical romance I’ve heard amazing things about!

So that’s it! These 11 books + 3 additional books from my FeelGoodAthon TBR + 2 additional books for Romanceathon = 16 books for the month! I’m also would like to squeeze in a couple extra ARCS but we’ll see if the happens.

I have a legit schedule and order to read these in as both readathons require you to read certain books before others. So it should be an interesting month 😅

What are you planning to read this month?? Let me know if you’re participating in either of these readathons and what teams you’re on!!
