Mid Year Freak Out Tag

Holy cow we’re just about half way through the year….

Let’s be honest… 2020 has been a massive mess. But at least I’m killing my Goodreads challenge?… 😅

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2020

I’ve already had 13 five star reads this year, so I’ve read a lot of amazing books! But I think Beach Read has had the biggest impact so far. This book took me places. If you’re looking for a heart wrenching, beautiful romance, read this.

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2020

I love this graphic novel series and binged the first 3 volumes in a single sitting. (Other than ACOMAF which was a reread) This was easily my favorite sequel(s). This is a queer graphic novel series about two soft, high school boys falling in love.

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to

Oh god so many… I have slowly been coming to terms with the fact that I will die surrounded by my TBR pile 😅 I just got a copy of Home Before Dark in the mail though so this is the first that came to mind!

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year.

I couldn’t possibly choose just one…. PS I have a whole post coming tomorrow on this!

5. Biggest disappointment

Serpent & Dove is definitely on the list… This had so many of my buzzwords, but this book was a damn hot mess imo.

6. Biggest surprise

I was highly anticipating The Shadows Between Us but I definitely went in tentatively. Holy cow did I love this! I read the entire thing in a single sitting because I was so obsessed.

7. Favourite new author. (Debut or new to you)

Katee Robert!! I heard amazing things about this author but I’ve become completely obsessed with their romances this year. If you’re looking for a steamy AF good time, this is your author.

8. Newest fictional crush

Nicholas. That’s all.

9. Newest favourite character

Morozko from the Winternight Trilogy! I didn’t know I could fall in love with a winter demon… but here we are.

10. Book that made you cry

I’m a big a** cry baby so a lot of them 😅 I didn’t want to use the same book twice but Beach Read definitely had me crying the hardest so far this year. I bawled… like had to take a break from reading to collect myself sobbed…

11. Book that made you happy

This book is just cute. So. Dang. Cute.

12. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)

Who’s surprised, I couldn’t choose just one 😅

13. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

I currently have 139 unread physical books on my shelf…. with about 20 more on the way…. over 50 unread e-arcs, 10 KU check-out, 7 physical library check outs, 10 Libby holds, 30+ audiobooks…. so yeah.

Send help.

Everyone is tagged! I can’t wait to see all the mid year updates!
