Weekly tarot recs are back – Round 9! ♥

The Concept
I totally got this idea from Ariel Bissett! So if you haven’t seen her video, definitely go check it out.
This is a 3 card spread and you can play along one of two ways:
- Chose one of the 3 cards that speaks to you. Don’t over think it, just chose which ever one your gut is telling you to.
- View this as virtual weekly or 3 card spread! A 3 card spread can be read many ways but the most common interpretations are:
- Past, Present, Future
- Mind, Body, Spirit
- You, Me, Us
- Stop, Start, Continue
NOTE: I have links to places you can purchase these books – these are NOT affiliate links! While I do receive ALC copies from Libro.fm, I do not receive anything if you purchase from them.
However, if you would like to start an Libro.fm account, you can use my referral link for 1 free audiobook!
The Spread
Now is the time to pick a card! I’ll read the cards from Left to Right. So feel free to skip to the card you pick or read them all!

Card 1: The Past

The first card is 7 of Pentacles
We’ve had this card before but I have a new recommendation this time!
Meaning
This card is all about growth! It signifies a time of perseverance and reflection. All your hard work is coming to fruition and soon you’ll see the results! This is a card about setting long term views/goals, finishing what you started, and nurturing growth.
This could be financial investment, inheritance, job growth, etc. But good things are coming if you stay focused!
Recommendation
This is a book I just read and absolutely loved!! So I’m so glad I got the change to recommend it right away!
Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall
This adult rom-com is all about personal growth! Luc is in a really dark place when the story begins. He feels trapped in a downward spiral he can’t get out of. But when his career is on the line, he teams up with Oliver to help get everything back on track.
Not only is this book absolutely swoony and hilarious, but the character arcs in here are fantastic. Luc really has to examine his life and his decisions to see how he is self-sabotaging and dealing with his traumas in an unhealthy way. It’s such a fun, heartwarming, and impactful read!! Highly recommend!

Card 2: The Present

The second card is 9 of Cups
Meaning
This is the card of bliss and harmony. You are entering a new phase – the hardships are behind you. This is a time of happiness and joy. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to, your accomplishments won’t go unnoticed.
Recommendation
Okay I know this is the 3rd book in the series but I’m recommending.
Daring and the Duke (The Bareknuckle Bastards #3) by Sarah MacLean
While I’m specifically recommending the 3rd book here, I highly recommend the series in general too! This is a historical romance trilogy following 3 bastard sons to a duke.
This final book is the redemption story for the villain of the first 2 books. These characters are so dark and gritty and I grew so attached to each of them. I loved that in the end they were able to break away from all the dark things in there past and find their HEAs. If you love feminist romances, definitely check this series out!

Card 3: The Future

The final card is Justice
The Meaning
This card symbolizes difficult decisions and karma. There is a heaviness surrounding a decision you need to make. Now is not the time to question the universe or your instincts. All of your choices have consequences. Take this time to examine your life – what could you be learning?
Recommendation
I decided to go with another recent release for this one –
Head Over Heels by Hannah Orenstein
This is a new release that I personally think has been poorly categorized. Goodreads will tell you this is a romantic comedy – don’t believe it.
This book is in fact, an adult contemporary focused heavily on the mental and physical impacts of being an Olympic athlete. This book is definitely heavy at times – trigger warnings for sexual assault, eating disorders, abuse, and depression. But I this book had a lot of important discussions on the backdrop of the (sadly not real) 2020 Olympics.
I will say – there is a romance in here but it is pretty insignificant and one of the weakest points of the book imo. So just know that going into this!

I absolutely love this idea. I’ve recently started reading tarot myself and the idea of combining reading cards with books is really interesting. Boyfriend Material is also next on my TBR. I can’t wait to read it. – Amber
