October is the perfect for some paranormal reads!
I sort of missed the first vampire craze.
I was in late high school/college when Twilight and all that jazz were released. I was so caught up in that I missed the whole dang thing. So I never really read much paranormal until a year or so ago.
But over the last year I’ve read quite a few paranormal books. Here are some (mostly vampire) books that I recommend!
1. The Beautiful series by Renée Ahdieh
I’ve talked about these books a lot and I just reviewed them last week so definitely check that out for my full thoughts. But this series is a really haunting, atmospheric take on vampires I can’t get enough of.
2. The Casquette Girls by Alys Arden
Another book I just reviewed! This is a really under hyped YA paranormal story set in New Orleans. It’s a chunker but has amazing paranormal vibes and some badass witches!
3. Simone St. James
Simone St. James writes the best paranormal thrillers in my opinion. You can’t go wrong with either of these haunting reads.
4. Sacrifice by Katee Robert
If you’re in the mood for some explicit and sexy vampires – definitely check out this new paranormal romance from one of my favorite indie romance authors!
5. Phenomenal Fates series by Tessa Bailey
Another really great vampire romance! This is a trilogy following 3 vampires and I adored the first 2 books (This Time Tomorrow is my personal fave).
6. Cassidy Blake series by Victoria Schwab
This middle grade series follows a young girl who can see ghosts as she travels to some of the worlds most haunted cities. Plus the audiobooks are absolutely fantastic!
7. Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh
A staple in the paranormal romance genre! Nalini Singh is definitely a classic author when it comes to paranormal romance, and for good reason. This series is fantastic! It has the most unique take to the paranormal world with Angels, Vampires, and Hunters.
8. Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
Okay this one wasn’t my personal favorite but I still want to give it a shoutout because I know so many people loved this. This is a really dark and twisted urban fantasy about ghosts, magic, and secret societies.
9. Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
JLA is another staple in the paranormal romance genre so she gets 2 spots on this list. First is this YA series. It follows the decedents of a Greek gods and has a really unique take on vampire-like creatures.
10. From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Last but not least is JLA’s latest adult paranormal romance. This series has it all – werewolves, vampires, magic, the works. It’s a slow start, but it’s full of classic paranormal goodness.
Were/are you into the vampire craze? What are some of your favorite paranormal books??
♥♥♥♥
I also didn’t really jump on the vampire hype (unless you count The Vampire Diaries, haha!) and would love to read some books w/ paranormal aspects now! Though I’m a bit worried about them being a bit cringy…I have The Beautiful & The Damned on my TBR and LOVED From Blood and Ash, but will have to check out the rest of these!! ♥

Yes! I was super worried about that too!! Like without the nostalgia factor I wasn’t going to be into it. But most of the ones I’ve read have been surprisingly good! Sacrifice is little cringy (but also kinda in a good way? 😅)
