Did I Read My Fall TBR?

It’s the last day of fall!

Which means it’s time look back on my fall TBR and see if I read all (or any 😅) of the books I put on that list!

For the rest of the year, I’ve been really good about tracking this throughout the season and keeping up to date. But the last couple months have been rough and I just fell off the bandwagon. So honestly I have no memory of what I put on my fall TBR list… hopefully this isn’t too terrible.

Did I read my fall TBR?

✅ 1. The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab

I read this! And it’s one of my new favorite books ever. I still haven’t written a review for this because I don’t even know how to put into words how much I loved this. It’s amazing.

❌ 2. The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow

This just appeared on my list of books I meant to read in 2020…. I wanted to read this so badly but it’s huge and time got away from me. It needs to happen soon though!

✅ 3. Kingdom of the Wicked (Kingdom of the Wicked #1) by Kerri Maniscalco

I read this! It was enjoyable but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations. I do plan to continue on with the series though because I liked the concept and I’m in love with Wrath.

❌ 4. Crazy Stupid Bromance (Bromance Book Club #3) by Lyssa Kay Adams

I actually did start this but unfortunately had to put it down. I didn’t realize before going in that this dealt heavily with illness and I just haven’t been in a place mentally to handle that (I have hypochondria so reading about illness is a huge trigger for me). But I will go back to it soon!

❌ 5. Love is a Rogue (Wallflowers vs. Rogues #1) by Lenora Bell

I kinda forgot about this one… I still really want to read this it just completely slipped through the cracks. Maybe in January!

✅ 6. Strange Grace by Tessa Gratton

I buddy read this with Autumn and we both ended up loving it! This was creepy and atmospheric and had the most wonderful poly relationship. I loved these three so dang much.

✅ 7. Ninth House (Alex Stern #1) by Leigh Bardugo

Another buddy read with Autumn! Unfortunately this one didn’t go quite as well… I had high hopes for Bardugo’s foray in to adult fantasy. But this wasn’t my favorite. I liked certain aspects of it but I thought it went a little too far just for shock factor rather than useful plot progression.

✅ 8. Capturing the Devil (Stalking Jack the Ripper #4) by Kerri Maniscalco

Another bummer of a read… I really enjoyed this series overall but this conclusion was a mixed bag. The first half (250ish pages) was utterly pointless and should have been taken out. The rest was regular Audrey and Creswell fun though!

❌ 9. Horrid by Katrina Leno

I cannot believe I didn’t read one of my most anticipated reads of the year…. I even bought a special edition 🙈 I will get to this soon!!

✅ 10. The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

I loved this heartwrenching and beautifully written story! It deals heavily with mental illness (specifically depression and suicide) but it carries this sense of hope throughout that brought me nearly to tears many times. Definitely check this one out!

Alright 6/10 isn’t awful! I’ve definitely had worse 😅 Hopefully I can get to some of the stragglers this winter instead!

Did you make a fall TBR? Were you able to read all the books on your list?
