Tarot Cards Pick Your Book Recommendation!

Happy Monday! Time to kick off the week with some new recommendations ♥

NOTE: I have links to places you can purchase these books – these are NOT affiliate links! While I do receive ALC copies from Libro.fm, I do not receive anything if you purchase from them.

However, if you would like to start an Libro.fm account, you can use my referral link for 1 free audiobook!

The Concept

I originally got this idea from Ariel Bissett! So if you haven’t seen her video, definitely head over to her channel.

This is a 3 card spread and you can play along one of two ways:

  1. Chose one of the 3 cards that speaks to you. Don’t over think it, just chose which ever one your gut is telling you to.
  2. View this as virtual weekly or 3 card spread! A 3 card spread can be read many ways but the most common interpretations are:
    • Past, Present, Future
    • Mind, Body, Spirit
    • You, Me, Us
    • Stop, Start, Continue

UPDATES: One of the things I’m changing this year is I’ll be including some video/story footage over on my Instagram. So if you want to watch that or pick a card over video, the story will be saved to a highlight all week ❤️

The Spread

Now is the time to pick a card! I’ll read the cards from Left to Right. So feel free to skip to the card you pick or read them all!

Card 1: ‘The Past’

The first card is: THE FOOL

The Fool is a sign of new beginnings. It’s the side of you that’s spontaneous and inexperienced. You are on the verge of something new and exciting! Don’t be afraid to fail. Taking this leap will allow you to grow through this new experience.

Recommendation

Alpha & Omega/Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs

For this I’m recommending both the intro novella as well as book 1 (because I think the prequel is vital to read before Cry Wolf).

The heroine Anna is facing a whole lot of new beginnings at the start of this series. She is discovering her identity as a wolf, finding herself in a new state and pack, and mated to a man she only recently met.

This series is a ton of fun, has an amazing (low-steam) romance, and amazing high-action plots.

Card 2: ‘The Present’

The second card is: HIGH PRIESTESS

This card symbolizes intuition, dreams, and mystery. It’s asking you to listen to your inner voice and trust your gut. Pay attention to your dreams and signs from the universe – they’re trying to tell you something.

Recommendation

Black Water Sister by Zen Cho

I literally couldn’t have drawn a better card for this book recommendation!

Jess is thrust into the world and spirits and gods when she moves to Malaysia with her family. There she faces gangsters, scheming, and loads of family drama all while trying to decipher the meaning of the visions and dreams she’s experiencing thanks to an angry goddess.

This book explores Malaysian folklore as well as immigration and what it means to belong. Jess has to learn to trust herself and her instincts in this amazing urban fantasy.

Card 3: ‘The Future’

The final card is: 7 OF SWORDS

The 7 of swords represents deception, lies, and manipulation. It’s a card of secrets – either you’re keeping one or one is being kept from you. And it’s time to identify and confront which it is.

Recommendation

Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power

‘Secrets’ is definitely the best word to summarize this book.

This follows Margot who knows nothing about her extended family or past. Her mother has hidden everything from her but she is determined to learn about where she came from. And why her mother is so secretive.

But when Margot meets her family, she only discovers more secrets. And that her family might have been buried for a reason.

This book is spooky and atmospheric. And it will leaving you frantically flipping the page until the final reveal.

What card did you pick and did the meaning/recommendation fit for you??
