Mini reviews for 3 of my recent romance reads!

I’ve talked about this in a few posts, but it’s a goal of mine this year to review every single book I read (so far so good!). But I don’t necessarily want to write a full length review, so some are just short and sweet.
I wanted to find a way to share some of those here so I decided to do some mini reviews when I finish 3 books in a genre!
Wild At Heart (Wild #2) by K.A. Tucker

I really loved this sequel to The Simple Wild!! I was nervous going into this because I absolutely loved how the first book ended and I wasn’t sure where this would go. But I loved these characters and world so much that I knew I had to give this a read!
I don’t think this romance will be for everyone. Since the couple is already together, this book lacks the romantic tension of will-they-won’t-they. However, I really appreciated the peak into the struggles of maintaining a lasting relationship.
I loved watching Calla and Jonah navigate the difficulties of starting a new relationship and balancing their own dreams with the necessary sacrifices for each other. It’s something a lot of people will be able to relate to (although there’s no way in hell I’d like in remote Alaska for anyone 😅)
Overall I flew through this audiobook – which is fantasticallynarrated by the way – in two sittings because I wanted as much time as possible with these characters.
It looks like there’s going to be a novella coming later this year and I’m already itching to get my hands on it!!
Revelry by Kandi Steiner

This book just further solidified Kandi Steiner as one of my all-time favorite romance authors. Kandi has an amazing ability to balance the sweet, romantic moments with heavy, heartbreaking topics. This entire book felt alive and real, like I could walk right into this vacation town. All of the characters were so realistic and flawed and I was wholly attached to each of them.
Wren’s character was so strong and raw. And even though I’ve never experienced anything like what she was going through, I felt her emotions so viscerally. And her chemistry with Anderson was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t help but root for them!
I listened to this on audio and finished the entire thing in 2 sittings because I never wanted to put this down. I was hooked from the very beginning, itching to uncover their secrets and watch the romance unfold. This was sweet and heartfelt and had me swooning the whole way through. I can’t get enough of Kandi Steiner’s books and I’m sad that I’m almost caught up with her backlist!
Soft on Soft by Mina Waheed

This F/F romance was one of the sweetest and SOFTEST things I’ve ever read. Not only did this have amazingrepresentation, but I loved that the author didn’t shy away from using labels on page. I feel like so often it’s hinted at, but this book was full of explicit labels, and we stan.
I loved the tenderness and support both women showed each other. This book was really short but did an amazing job showing what it’s like to enter into a new relationship and learn to trust that person.
The only reason this didn’t get a higher rating is because I personally love my romances angsty. I thrive on the tension and slow burn. This was the total opposite of that! So if you’re in the market for a soft, sweet romance that’s not sexually explicit, this is your book! Read it, your heart will melt.
♥♥♥♥
Wait, Soft on Soft is an F/F romance ?! I NEED to pick it up!
