Historical Romance Readathon TBR

First readathon of 2021!

I’m so excited that it’s time for round two of the Historical Romance Readathon!

I participated in this last year and it was my first experience with historical romances and I completely fell in love! So I’m really hyped to be doing it again this year.

Here’s the quick breakdown:

  1. Read Historical Romances
  2. Use the bingo board for prompts to guide your TBR
  3. This readathon is hosted by PeaceLoveBooksxo, RemarkablyLisa, and LaceyBooklovers
  4. The readathon runs from January 15-21
  5. Buddy Read: A Notorious Vow by Joanna Shupe

This TBR is hella ambitious because honestly I just couldn’t decide what I want to read this week 😅

1. Love is a Rogue (Wallflowers vs. Rogues #1) by Lenora Bell

Challenges: New to You Author, Blue on Cover, Shirtless Man on Cover

I got an ARC of this from Avon last year and I didn’t manage to get to it. This also meets one of my January TBR challenges so even more perfect! I know nothing about this plot (I’m sure I did at some point but I’ve completely forgotten). And honestly I want to keep it this way. I know that it’s a wallflower/rogue romance and that’s enough for me!

2. A Ruthless Lady’s Guide to Wizardry by C.M. Waggoner

Challenges: Recent Release, New to You Author, Standalone

This is a historical fantasy romance. It just released on Tuesday so I definitely want to get this read and reviewed! This is a sapphic romance between 2 body guards protecting a powerful noblewoman from assassins. I’m so excited.

3. The Rogue of Fifth Avenue (Uptown Girls #1) by Joanna Shupe

Challenges: Blue Cover, Joanna Shupe, Recommended, Different Social Classes

This a historical romance that is actually set in New York rather than the UK. I believe this a romance between a lawyer and “modern day Robin Hood”. Jess from Peace Love Books absolutely raves about this book and Joanna Shupe as an author so I’m excited to give her books a try!

4. The Devil in Spring (The Ravenells #3) by Lisa Kleypas

Challenges: Stepback, Marriage of Convenience

I started this series for the first round of this readathon so I thought it was only fitting to finally carry on this time. This is the 3rd book and follows one of the Ravenell twins, Pandora. She agrees to enter a marriage of convenience in order to achieve her entrepreneurial dreams. But things might not be exactly what they seem.

5. To Love and to Loathe by Martha Waters

Challenges: Widowed heroine

This doesn’t release until April but I’m really trying to get ahead on ARCs. So I figured now would be a good time to jump on this one. This is the follow up to To Have and to Hoax and is a fake dating/friends to lovers romance. It follows 2 characters from the first book who make a bet and on the rakish hero getting married in the next year.

6. A Lady’s Guide to Mischief and Mayhem (A Lady’s Guide #1) by Manda Collins

Challenges: Blue cover

This is another late ARC that I would like to finally read and review! It’s also has a mystery element so it would be perfect to mix things up a little. This follows a female news-reporter who gets wrapped up in a murder investigation. And the leading detective.

7. Her Night With the Duke (Clandestine Affairs #1) by Diana Quincy

Challenges: Recommended, New to You Author, Widowed Heroine

This is another book that Jess from Peace Love Books absolutely raved about! It follows a widowed heroine who has a one night stand with a man at an inn where they are both stuck during a storm. But the next day she discovers that her one night stand is her step daughters betrothed. DRAMA.

8. A Lady’s Formula for Love (The Secret Scientists of London #1) by Elizabeth Everett

Challenges: Blue on Cover, Different Social Classes

Another ARC! This one releases in February and follows a female scientist and a her body guard! The heroine is a noblewoman and working on a secret project for the Crown. So when she is threatened, she is assigned a protection officer. And sparks fly.

Let me know if you’re participating in the readathon this week or if you’ve read any of the books on my list! I’d love to hear what you thought of them!

  1. great tbr!! I’ve been back and forth thinking about doing this readathon and think your post just convinced me! I own a copy of that johanna Shupe book and just got a highlander romance arc the other day so I think its safe to say I should start working on my tbr!! Good luck with the readathon 🙂
