Top Five Saturday: Royalty in Title

Top Five Saturday was started by Mandy over at Devouring Books! Go check out her page for upcoming Top Five Saturday topics and to check out her wonderful blog.

I stretched this topic just slightly. I had a surprising small number of books with “king, queen, prince, or princess” in the title. So I opened it to things royal-esque – crown, throne, kingdom, etc.

These are the 5 royalty books highest on my 2021 TBR!

The Rogue King (Inferno Rising #1) by Abigail Owen

I just recently picked this up and book 2 from Barnes & Noble because I saw someone raving about it… but for the life of me I can’t remember who now 😅

All I know is that it’s a dragon shifter fantasy romance and I’ve been ALL about the fantasy/paranormal romance lately.

Fun fact – I’m fairly certain I was sent a copy of this from Entangled and accidentally unhauled it at some point…..

The Kingdom of Copper (The Daevabad Trilogy #2) by S.A. Chakraborty

This is book 2 in this Middle Eastern inspired high fantasy series! Everyone and their dog raves about this series and I’m SO excited to continue on with book 2.

But it’s huge and I’m easily intimidated 😅

I adored book 1 though and the ending left me reeling! So this is definitely happening sometime soon. (I need a round of Tome Topple to happen!)

Kingdom of the Cursed (Kingdom of the Wicked #2) by Kerri Maniscalco

The cover for this hasn’t been released yet so book 1 is standing in it’s place. The sequel to this YA historical fantasy is set to release this coming October and I’m desperate to get my hands on it.

I wasn’t blown away by some of this first book but the ending had me screaming. So I NEED to know where it goes from here!

Plus I’m helplessly in love with demon daddy Wrath 😍

The Jasmine Throne (Burning Kingdoms #1) by Tasha Suri

This June release is the start of a new queer, adult high fantasy trilogy!

It’s set in a world inspired by historical India and follows a princess and a maidservant who form an unlikely allyship in hopes of overthrowing the throne.

The Crown of Gilded Bones (Blood and Ash #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Anyone surprised I found a way to fit an JLA book on this list? 😅

This is the third book in the Blood & Ash series and after the ending of book 2, I’d sacrifice my first born to get my paws on this beauty. This series has it’s flaws, but I’m just so dang obsessed with everything this author writes.

This is another 600+ chuncker but I’m ready to devour it.

  1. Still need to read kingdom of flesh and fire but am hoping to binge the last two together! Kingdom of the wicked on my TBR and The Rogue King looks so good! Great post 🙂
