Winter was full of amazing books!
Winter might be my least favorite month of the year but it definitely delivered on the reading front! I read SIX 5 star books this season! So I’m going to talk about all of them because my heart couldn’t handle cutting one from this list.
1. Namesake (Fable #2) by Adrienne Young
I loved this duet! I was so leery about picking up this series initially because pirates normally aren’t my thing. But I loved everything about this. The romance was great, the intrigue and political maneuvering was fantastic. Everything about it just worked and I was completely hooked the entire time reading this.
2. A Dark and Hollow Star (A Dark and Hollow Star #1) by Ashley Shuttleworth
I was blown away by this urban fantasy! This world is so unique and expansive. There were so many moving parts and fantasy elements thrown in here that it easy could have become too much. But it all worked so well together. I can’t wait for the sequel!!
PS – my full review is coming on Saturday!
3. Love at First by Kate Clayborn
This book has solidified Kate Clayborn as one of my favorite romance authors. This romance was so heart-warming and soft and I just loved every second. It had a swoony doctor hero, a quirky self-reliant heroine, and an amazing found family.
4. A Court of Silver Flames (ACOTAR #4) by Sarah J. Maas
I was so unsure about this next ACOTAR book. But I shouldn’t have underestimated SJM’s power. This redemption arc was perfection. I hated Nesta with a burning fiery passion 😅 But man did she win me over.
This was steamy, sassy, and really powerful. Loved. Loved.
5. The Rogue of Fifth Avenue (Uptown Girls #1) by Joanna Shupe
My new favorite historical romance!! This is set in America rather than London (which was a first for me) and I wasn’t sure how I’d like it. But this romance was everything I love in historicals! It had a badass heroine, an enemies to lovers/forbidden romance, and engaging, high risks plot. So good! I can’t wait to read more from this author (I’ve already ordered the majority of their backlog 😅)
6. Into the Heartless Wood by Joanna Ruth Meyer
This was my first 5 star read of the year! I knew from the moment I read this synopsis that this would be a perfect book for me. It has a monstrous woods, tree sirens, and a forbidden romance that left me reeling. I loved how this was written and I’m definitely planning to pick up this author’s backlit book Echo North!
What were some of your favorite books from the last 3 months? Did you find any new favorites?
A Dark and Hollow Star looks amazing, I can’t wait to read it. I also loved ACOSF even though I wasn’t sure if I would or not. Nesta’s story was fantastic!
