This was SO GOOD!!! This was my first Danielle Allen book and it definitely won’t be my last. I really loved how this was laid out – you get little flashbacks to the friends in college and I loved getting this glimpses into their history. I also loved the friend group. They were absolutely ride or die and it’s something I always love seeing in books. But the romance stole the show. While I wish we had gotten to see more of their emotional relationship develop, the physical chemistry between these two was out of this world. This book was hella sexy I was living for it. And the truth or dare element was really clever and so well done!

Definitely picking up more from this author asap!

Heated Rivalry (Game Changers #2) by Rachel Reid

Where do I even begin describing my love for this book? This was absolutely every I’ve ever wanted in a enemies to lovers romance. It was sexy, it was sweet, and it was so slow burn with the feelings that I nearly screamed by the time they confessed.

While I love the enemies to lovers trope, it can be difficult to find true enemies and not just a simple misunderstanding. These 2 are SERIOUS rivals – they bicker, they argue, they push each other to their limits. But secretly they’re both cinnamon rolls and I loved watching them slowly break down each other’s walls.

I loved how this was set up – it jumps between their meetings and I loved how the time jumps got smaller and smaller as they grew to care for each other. Everything about this was fantastic and I’d die for both of these characters.

I’m so excited that Rachel Reid is writing another book following these 2 characters! I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on it!

The Heiress Gets a Duke (The Gilded Age Heiresses #1) by Harper St. George

I absolutely LOVED the setup for this book. This follows are fiercely independent American heiress who is determined to make her own way in the world. When she comes to London at the invitation of her friend, she is dragged to a fighting ring where she finds herself kissing a handsome fighter who knows her name. I was completely hooked by this opening and was fully expecting this to be a new favorite. While it didn’t end up quite hitting that mark, it was still a really fun read and I can’t wait for the sequel!

I loved the main characters and I really loved them together. But what stopped this from being a new favorite was how much the main characters stood own way. I love a strong female heroine, and August is definitely that – almost to a fault. Both main characters see themselves in a certain light and because of that they both continuously deny themselves what they want. Which doesn’t bother me at all in theory, but in execution it stunted their connection slightly and kept me from really falling in love with them as a couple.

Overall I really enjoyed this and I’m excited for the sequel (which I just received as an ARC!). Also – this audiobook is narrated by Justine Eyre (my absolute favorite narrator) so the audiobook was absolutely fantastic!
