September readathon TBR #1

Today is day 1 of the month long Bookoplathon! This is a pretty involved readathon so if you want all the details, go check out Becca’s announcement video where she walks through the rules and board!

I aimed for 6 rolls/books – unfortunately the rolls were not in my favor and I rolled 3 doubles 🙈 and ended up with 9 total books.

It’s definitely still doable (albeit a little trickier with my already overly-ambitious TBR), I just had to be strategic in my picks. A LOT of these are ARCs or books I’m also reading for the Adventures Through Wonderland readathon (TBR coming tomorrow).

ALSO! Just a note before I get comments – I didn’t realize until long after I did this that the Chance and Community Shelf cards backwards. So I had prompts written on my Chance cards and random books on my Community Shelf. I’m not going back and changing it.

Here are my 9 rolls, and what I’m planning to read!

1. Chance – Most Anticipated: Tools of Engagement (Hot and Hammered #3) by Tessa Bailey

This is an ARC I talked about in my September Reading Plans post. It’s the third and final book in this sexy rom-com series and it’s definitely one I’ve been highly anticipating!

2. POC Rep: Legendborn (Legendborn #1) by Tracy Deonn

This is a YA fantasy retelling of Merlin that I’m so excited to read!

3. Becca Rec: Fortuna Sworn (Fortuna Sworn #1) by K.J. Sutton

Was there really any other option for this prompt? 😅 This is a fantasy romance series that Becca has been raving about all year! I own the first 2 books so I’m really excited to start this!

4. 5 Star Prediction: The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow

This is another ARC and the follow up to The Ten Thousand Doors of January which made my favorites of the year list last year. I’m wholly anticipating this to be another new favorite!

5. Chance – Romance: The Roommate by Rosie Danan

Another ARC! This is supposed to be a sexy rom-com about 2 roommates who don’t know each other until they move in together. I’m sure this is one that I will be able to fly through!

6. Dark Cover: The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane (Black Hollow Lane #1) by Julia Nobel

This overlaps with my Wonderland TBR which I’ll be sharing tomorrow. It’s a middle grade mystery set at a boarding school. And that’s all I know! 😅

7. Middle Grade: A Pinch of Magic (A Pinch of Magic #1) by Michelle Harrison

This is another Wonderland TBR book and one of the most beautiful covers I’ve ever seen! I know nothing about the plot of this but I’ve seen Jade rave about this book on her channel so I’m hoping I love it too!

8. Chance – Fantasy: The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab

On my most anticipated ARCs ever. This is a fantasy I’ve been dying to pick up and now is finally the time. I’ve seen mixed reviews so far but that seems par for the course with Schwab’s books. Hopefully this is finally one the I love!

9. Nature on Cover: We Were Restless Things by Cole Nagamatsu

And last but not least, another ARC! I won’t lie, this was 100% a cover request…. oops. Luckily the synopsis is equally intriguing! This is a YA fantasy/thriller that has one of my favorite elements EVER – a book (or journal in this case) inside of a book!!

If by some strange (unlikely) chance finish all the prompts, I’ll roll again until the end of the month. But I’m leery on my ability to even finish all of these 😅 I will definitely keep you updated on my progress throughout the month though!
