Lots of amazing releases to kick off the new year!
January 5th
1. The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins
This is an adult mystery/thriller is a reimagining of Jane Eyre. The pitch on the back says:
“Which Mrs. Rochester will get her happy ending?”
This is the follow up to Reverie and this queer YA contemporary is:
“Project Runway goes to Comic Con in an epic queer love story about creativity, passion, and finding the courage to be your most authentic self.”
This new YA urban fantasy is based on Greek mythology and follows 9 Greek gods forced to live in the world as mortals. But they’re hunted by descendants of ancient bloodlines set on obtaining the gods’ powers.
January 12th
1. The Ruthless Lady’s Guide to Wizardry by C.M. Waggoner
This is a historical fantasy with a sapphic romance between body guards protecting a young rich lady from a magical foe.
2. You Have a Match by Emma Lord
The follow up to Tweet Cute! This YA contemporary follows a teen who discovers she has a younger sister she never knew about. To get to know each other and the secrets of their past, they attend summer camp together.
3. Into the Heartless Woods by Joanna Ruth Meyer
This YA fantasy is –
“the story of impossible love between a monstrous tree siren and a boy who lives at the edge of her wood.“
January 19th
1. In the Garden of Spite by Camilla Bruce
This is a historical thriller. I’m just going to leave this blurb here –
“An audacious novel of feminine rage about one of the most prolific female serial killers in American history–and the men who drove her to it.“
2. Enjoy the View (Moose Springs, Alaska #3) by Sarah Morgenthaler
This is the 3rd book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series. It’s an adult rom-com following the residents in a rural Alaskan tourist town. This book follows the romance between an outdoorsy woodman and a Hollywood starlet.
This is an adult romance between 2 workaholic coworkers battling for the same promotion. They’re forced to write their proposals while on a cruise together.
4. Remote Control by Nnedi Okofafor
This science fiction novella drew me in with this blurb –
“She’s the adopted daughter of the Angel of Death. Beware of her. Mind her. Death guards her like one of its own.”
5. Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo
This is a YA historical sapphic romance set in San Fransisco’s Chinatown during the Red Scare.
January 26th
1. The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon
This adult contemporary romance follows 2 radio co-hosts and enemies as they start a new segment where they dole out live relationship advice. But their ruse as ex’s becomes complicated when they start falling for each other.
2. If I Disappear by Eliza Jane Brazier
This YA mystery/thriller is about a podcast host who goes missing and the young woman determined to find her.
This new YA fantasy standalone is a –
“fiercely feminist fantasy with a horrifying curse, swoon-worthy sea captains, and the power of one girl to choose her own fate”
Also the cover is absolutely stunning.

February is bringing us some of my most anticipated releases of the year and tons of amazing romances!
February 2nd
1. The Project by Courtney Summers
This YA thriller follows a young woman determined to rescue her sister from the cult – The Unity Project.
2. What Big Teeth by Rose Szabo
This YA fantasy is supposed to be a cross between Miss Peregrine’s and The Addams Family. It follows a teen as she reconnects with her monstrous family.
3. Muse (Muse #1) by Brittany Cavallaro
This is the first book in a YA fantasy duology set in an alternate history where America is a monarchy and war is brewing.
4. Make Up Break Up by Lily Menon
This is Sandhya Menon’s first adult romance! It follows rival app developers with a rocky romantic history who find themselves office neighbors.
5. Much Ado About You by Samantha Young
This is an adult rom-com following a women who impulsively books a vacation to rural England, and finds herself working the local quaint bookstore.
February 9th
1. The Gilded Ones (Deathless #1) by Namina Forna
This new YA fantasy is finally releasing!! It follows a young girl whose blood runs gold. So to save herself from death, she flees her village and everything she knows to fight in an army of near immortals to overthrow the emperor.
