My 4th TBR of the year is here!
April is a pretty slow reading month commitment wise. I’m not planning on participating in any readathons (at this time) and there aren’t a ton of buddy reads/book clubs/readalongs that I’m planning to participate in. But there are a couple, plus my month TBR challenges, plus some ARCs.
So here’s what I’m planning to read!
Check out my Instagram highlight if you want to watch me pick out these prompts and books!
Challenge 1: Mass Market Paperback – Chasing Cassandra (The Ravenels #6) by Lisa Kleypas
This is the next book in the Ravenels series and the last one that’s currently published. I really want to catch up on this series and it’s on my Spring TBR so I’m glad I was able to fit this in right away in April.
I’ll most likely listen to this on audio like I did the rest of the series.
Challenge 2: Favorite Author – Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sarah J Maas
I’ll be rereading this for TogAlong!
Challenge 3: Wildcard – The Mary Shelley Club by Goldy Moldavsky
I decided to pick this because I have an ARC copy I really need to get to. I did an author interview with Goldy a month or so ago and it got me crazy excited for this YA thriller. It seems to have a lot of 90’s horror vibes and I’m ready for it.
Challenge 4: E-Book – She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen
Another Macmillan ARC I need to get to this month! This is a sapphic YA contemporary that came in a package. It’s not my normal thing, but it sounds sweet and fun so I want to give it a shot.
Challenge 5: Paperback – Fire (Graceling Realm #2) by Kristin Cashore
I loved The Graceling so I’m really excited to continue on with this series! I know literally nothing about this…
Challenge 6: 5 Star Prediction – These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan
This doesn’t come out until late July but I’m so excited to read it and I just can’t wait any longer 😅 I love Lexi Ryan’s romances. I’ll try and save my full review for closer to release day but hopefully I end up loving this as much as I think I will!
I definitely have more arcs this month than last month so hopefully I can keep up!
1. Witches Steeped in Gold (Witches Steeped in Gold #1) by Ciannon Smart
This YA fantasy is a series chunker. I was originally planning to read it for Tome Topple in March but it didn’t happen. I’ve heard amazing early reviews so I’ll definitely be picking it up in early April!
2. Forest of Stolen Girls by June Hur
This is a YA thriller following a detective and string of missing girls in Korea.
3. The Duke Undone by Joanna Lowell
A new historical romance from Berkely. I’ve just been obsessed with this genre lately.
4. What Beauty There Is by Cory Anderson
This got sent to me in a package with some other ARCs but the cover intrigued me enough to download an arc copy. I think it’s an intense YA suspense novel. So we’ll see how it goes!
Book Clubs, Buddy Reads, Etc
I’m definitely still participating in TogAlong still but I was able to fit that book into my monthly TBR prompts.
Buzzwordathon: ‘Galaxy Words’ – Mercury Boys by Chandra Prasad
I was at a loss for what to read for this months prompt until this ARC dropped on my Kindle. This doesn’t release until August but I desperately want to read it so I’m going to pick it up this month for this prompt!
This is a speculative YA novel following a secret society of girls who can visit boys from the past in their dreams.
Literally Dead Book Club – Every Vow You Break by Peter Swanson
I’m SO excited for this month’s pick! I love thrillers that involve weddings and islands so hopefully this is one I really enjoy.
Ravished by Romance – The Heiress Gets a Duke (The Gilded Age Heiresses #1) by Harper St. George
It’s been a couple of months since I’ve participated in this romance book club but I’m super hyped for April’s pick! This cover is stunning and I’ve heard really good things. Plus the audiobook is narrated by my favorite narrator – Justine Eyre. So. Ready.
Buddy Read – Blood Bound (Mercy Thompson #2) by Patricia Briggs
I’m participating in an IG buddy read for this series! I’m listening to them all on audio so once this comes in on Libby I’ll be diving in.
What books are you planning to read this month?? And as always – if you want to do a buddy read anything on this list, let me know and we can set something up!
