I think I’m going to LOVE these 2021 releases!
There are so many books releasing in 2021 that I’m HIGHLY anticipating that it was actually kind of difficult to narrow down this list to only 10. Hopefully that means next years reading will be even better than this years!
I did recently wrapped up my 2020 predictions and boy did I fail 😅 So I tried to be more strategic in my picks this round. We’ll see how it goes.
Here are 10 books releasing in 2021 that I think will be 5 star reads!
1. These Hollow Vows by Lexi Ryan
I’ve read Lexi Ryan’s indie published adult romances and absolutely LOVED them. This is her first traditionally published book and it’s a YA fantasy so definitely a big deviation from her previous stuff! But it’s described as a “sexy action packed” Fae fantasy so I definitely think it’s something I’m going to love!
2. When Night Breaks (Kingdom of Cards #2) by Janella Angeles
I was SO close to giving book 1 in this series 5 stars! But the ending threw me for a loop so I dropped my rating a little. But I adore Janella Angeles’ writing and definitely think this conclusion has the potential to be a new favorite!
3. People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
Emily Henry’s last adult romance, Beach Read, quickly catapulted it’s way to my all time favorites list. So I’m really hoping this next adult romance by her will leave me feeling the same way.
4. Into the Heartless Woods Joanna Ruth Meyer
This is probably the biggest wildcard on the list. But it’s described as a heartbreaking and darkly atmospheric love story between a monstrous tree siren and a boy who lives at the edge of the woods. I love romance. I love dark stories. And I love a forest setting. What could go wrong?
5. Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune
TJ Klune is an author I haven’t read from yet but keep collecting and adding to lists because I just know he’s going to become an all time favorite. I’m determined to make 2021 the year I finally read his novels. And I think this new release will be a 5 star read!
6. Down Comes the Night by Allison Saft
This is described as a dark, gothic YA fantasy and that just sounds right up my alley. I’m really hoping this debut will be as outstanding as I think it will be!
7. The Dead and the Dark by Courtney Gould
Everything about this sounds like something I will love! It’s a dark, gritty, feminist story with slight fantastical elements – which is my absolutely favorite genre. I have a really good feeling about this one!
8. Good Girl, Bad Blood (Good Girls Guide to Murder #2) by Holly Jackson
Book 1 in this series quickly became my new favorite YA mystery of all time! And I’ve heard that book 2 is just as amazing! So this is definitely one I think will be an easy 5 stars.
9. Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas
Aiden Thomas’ debut Cemetery Boys is another book that became a favorite in 2020. So I have high hopes that their sophomore novel will be just as fantastic! Plus this is a Peter Pan retelling and I always love those!
10. Small Favors by Erin A. Craig
Another author I’ve read from and loved! House of Salt and Sorrows was 4.5 star read (but considering how much I still think about that book it probably deserves 5 star status) and I think this one will be just as crazy and amazing!
Are there any 2021 releases you think will be 5 star reads?

Definitely wait until closer to the release of When Night Breaks!! The cliffhanger at the end of Where Dreams Descend killed me 😅 And it’s going to be so good! I just know it ❤️❤️

I haven’t even bothered sorting through my 2021 wish list, I’m overwhelmed just thinking about it! Into the Heartless Wood sounds so good. It could also be because I love the Heartless from Kingdom Hearts and that’s where my mind first went lol.
Lost in the Never Woods is definitely on my TBR wishlist already; I’m a sucker for retellings and esp Peter Pan ones!
