Romances to Keep You Warm this Winter – Pt. 2

Even more steamy romances to heat things up.

Today is part two of romances to bring the heat. Today I’m sharing Historical, Paranormal, and the Hottest romances to really dial things up.

Historical

1800’s Englishmen knew how to romance.

1. Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore

My Review

This is probably one of the most hyped historical romances out there. And it’s definitely worth that hype. This is a feminist historical set in Victorian London and follows one of the first female students at Oxford. As part of her women’s suffragette group, she’s tasked with bringing the cold Duke of Montgomery to their side. But the Duke might not be as cold as she thinks.

2. The Bareknuckle Bastards trilogy by Sarah MacLean

My Review

This is such a fun romance trilogy! This series is sassy, feminist, and super steamy. It follows 4 bastard children of a duke, their reign over Covenant Gardens, and 3 romances for the ages. The female characters in here are strong, witty, and the stars of the show.

3. Seducing the Sedgwicks Trilogy by Cat Sebastian

My Review

Cat Sebastian is doing amazing things for the historical romance genre. Her books bring so much diversity to an otherwise white-washed genre. This trilogy follows 3 brothers and their romances. This series is (obviously) queer and does a fantastic job at highlighting what that was like during this time. This series is really sweet and fun so definitely give it a read!

Paranormal

Bring on the vampires and angels.

1. Phenomenal Fate series by Tessa Bailey

My Review

This series is going to be a trilogy but book 3 isn’t out yet. But don’t let that stop you from picking up these first 2 books! This is the authors first foray into paranormal romance and it is fantastic and addicting. Book 1 follows a mortician who discovers the man on her table is actually alive… kind of. And book 2 is the romance between a vampire and a vampire hunter!

2. Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh

Nalini Singh and the Guild Hunter series are a staple in Fantasy romance. And for good reason. This series is so unique, fast paced, and highly addicting. Luckily for all of us there are already 13 books released with countless short stories. Endless content for fans of vampires and angels.

3. Sacrifice by Katee Robert

If you want vampires with less fantasy and more smut look no further. This is a ultra sexy MMMF romance between a women sacrificed by her father as food and a vampire who has been trapped inside his home by that same man. This has content warnings at the front of the book so make sure to check those out before diving in.

The Hottest of the Hot

These bad boys are for adult eyes only.

1. Credence by Penelope Douglas

My Review

Okay I’ll acknowledge now that the one won’t be for everyone. And definitely not the faint of heart. This is a ultra sexy romance between a young women and her almost uncle and cousins. The 4 near strangers are snowed in at their mountain home and smutty things ensue. It’s really dark and has definite dubious consent. But it’s also one of the most addicting reads I’ve ever picked up.

2. The Roommate by Rosie Danan

My Review

This is on the lighter side for this category but I decided it belonged here because this adult rom-com deals heavily with sex work. I loved how this series discussed issues and biases toward sex workers and the highlighted some of the dark underbelly of the sex industry. Plus the chemistry and tension between the main characters is a 10/10.

3. Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert

This romance series is a smutty twist to classic Disney tales. This asks the question – what if the villain got the princess and the hero was actually the villain? The entire series revolves around an exclusive sex club ran by Hades. And each installment is a romance following a different Disney villain. They’re all short, steamy, and super fun reads!

4. Getaway Girl by Tessa Bailey

My Review

This book is actually part of a series but this is the only one I’ve read so far! No one writes dirty talk like Tessa Bailey and her skills are in full force in here. This is a friends to lovers romance between an outcast and the future mayor.

5. The Thalanian Dynasty trilogy by Katee Robert

Hands down the best polyamorous romance I’ve read! I’ve said it before, but no writes smut like Katee Robert. She does such a fantastic job of making this romance feel balanced and believable. I completely fell in love with these characters and think you will too! This is a royalty/body guard/small-town heroine romance like no other. Check it out!

  2. Love Cat Sebastian’s historicals! They’re so fluffy and sweet 😊 and the Psy-Changeling series is one of my favourite paranormals but I’ve never read the Guild Hunter series for some reason! Really need to change that soon 😂
